KT: thank you for reading and for your kind comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed this piece. You mention living in Travers City, Michigan. I grew up in Lapeer, Michigan and had some motel weekends in Traverse and week long camping trips outside of there. I love that area. I live in Florida now. Don't miss the snow but miss the summers in Michigan and the Great Lakes and birch bark trees. Take care of you and your family in the house on the bluff in Traverse City. Linda

This is a marvelous piece of writing. I love the dirty shoes on the furniture, jelly handprints on the walls, and the best hugs from grandkids -- and I can relate to all of that. From beginning to end, your images are great. Well done.

I'm 72 and have several serious health problems. Since September, my emphysema gives me terrible fatigue and I sleep for three or four days at a time with little functional time. I woke up with a little energy this morning and this poem poured out of me. I'm glad that it touched you emotionally. Thank you. LInda

This poem has definitely got that Aww, feeling. Many on here will really relate to all those emotions, we give birth, bring our little ones up to know they are loved, watch them get married and leave home. But those grandchildren are our blessings. Now they are growing up and we are growing old. And feeling it. How nice it would be to have a replay! No, no Covid. I have heart disease, CHF and emphysema. They are all kicking my butt, especially the emphysema. That's what I get for having smoked for 41 years! Linda

My mum had that. Now I'm worried, I smoked from the age of 14 until I was 46, I'm 74 soon, and I'm on inhalers and goodness knows what. Sir Walter Rileigh has a lot to answer for!!! So much for getting better the moment you stop! xxx

Wow, you impressed me. Not one rhythm, but wonderful. So what do you call that kind of poetry? Last night I couldn't get to sleep and started writing something like that. Usually, I get up and write it down but I didn't last night because I didn't know what to call it. It was about the state of the union. Disappointment with so so many, and the fear of never getting back to a union. We are the United States of America, keyword United. But not anymore. We are separated by hate and beliefs. So so sad. Pray!!!!!!!!!!
