Apt to See the Cloud

From back when I was imitating Frost. An oldie.

That is a great picture by cleo85 that you chose. Your poem creates the same tone and imagery the picture. Your use of metaphors creates a stronger message. The speaker challenges the reader to reflect upon how they view their life. Well thought out.

Thank you so much, Liz. Yes, that was a coincidence that I chose cleo85's work, since I chose another of her pieces to accompany a poem early in the year! Must mean I love her work! Thanks again for your time, and best of luck to you.

I've used several of Cleo's pictures too.

Apt to See the Cloud is not necessarily a negative piece for me. My opinion on viewing something whether it is a cloud or an event in life is...
You call em as you see em. Among my circle of friends I think we could all look at a cloud bank and see the good- bad and ugly of it's muse and meaning.
I enjoyed the honesty of the words you wrote: you do not condemn or put down others for what they see- and you do not spend ions of your time to try and see it as they do. Nothing wrong with that- I call that realism.
I enjoyed your work here and I will take another stroll through your portfolio for more.
Thank you for sharing your insights.

How kind of you, to take all that time to review this piece and to look at my other work! Thank you so much, and I hope your weekend has something delicious or surprising in store for you.

The old saying is that there is a silver lining to each cloud. In you poem you acknowledge that you see the cloud. Two types of people in the world, optimist and pessimists. I prefer the silver lining.

Thanks so much for your review, Anne. As I said, yes, this was from a darker time in my life, as the assignment was to find an "oldie" in my portfolio. Lots of death and divorce does that to you! I'm much more optimistic these days, no worries! Thanks again, and I wish for you a delicious weekend.

You are welcome. We all go through hard times, but if we keep hope, we will make it through
