Ha, Ha, Ha what you describe is a combination of my two cats, Dinu and Leo. Dinu is the king of the bed and Leo is the tiger cat biting my legs every time he gets a chance. I am telling you that bed it's a damn battle field.

Aren't cats wonderful? Especially the ones that mutilate you. This story is so spot on in describing cats' imperious behavior.
But I couldn't stop laughing at your description of how you have to twist yourself into a pretzel so as not to disturb Bixby. Otherwise, you take your life in your own hands.
Many decades ago I had a wacky boyfriend who rescued 2 very young kittens. He nursed them and carried them around with him in a pouch, including to his classes (law school). As the kittens grew, they asserted themselves in his bed. They insisted on sleeping between his legs. Mornings became a race to escape the bed before the kitties woke up and indulged in their morning stretches, extending their claws into, how to state this delicately, a very tender location. Blood-curdling screams were not a rare occurrence.

You are accomodating Bixby? I'm afraid if it were me, I would leave the cat on the bed and go to the sofa. I'm not a cat person, although I love their looks and I think there is nothing as cute as a kitten. You are so generous with this pet.

They are irresistible manner, and really they are very charming, I can see you're under Bixby's spell, and yes, we've had several cats, each one different, we owned seven at one stage, and sometimes they'd all be in bed, scrapping for the number one, but usually there is a dominant one, and quite often the female, beautifully written Liz, well done, blessings Roy
