Superb, dear Melissa. You are at the best of your writing these days and that says a lot. This year everyone has been a sixer. I picked this one for the week. Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs....

hello Sweet Sal. Thanks so much for your loving comments that are so full of encouragement. Have a lovely week... I hope to get back into FS tomorrow. There seems to be so much to do that my writing is suffering, but hey, with the guys still working from home, that sense of seclusion is gone and it really matters. Hugs!

It hurts to look back and realised that we were too generous , too quick in loving people that didn't deserve it ...

And then when our heart is drained , we finally met that special one we were looking for all our life..

It would be great if we could erase our past , the mistakes , the time wasted

tabula rasa , have a clean slate.

Love has many facets .. loves we regret is one

you approached the theme in a very touching way.

This love poem brought to tears to my eyes. I often wish (daily it feels like) that I could turn back time and undo the past and not have given my heart so freely. But...it is a lesson learned and life goes on.
Well done and thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece!

It would be nice to be able to give the love we wasted on people who broke our hearts and give it to the ones who deserve it. If we only knew then what we know now. Your poem is well-written, very relatable and your artwork is perfect for the poem.

A very well-written free verse love poem about the tender moments we shared with others who are not part of our life anymore and we wish we could get back those emotions they took for granted.

I like this message. It seems to have the same theme as your Spenserian sonnet - to reach back and remember beautiful things from the past and use it to bless our loved ones today. My only suggestion is to use something else than "them" in the last line. I'm assuming "them" refers to the "tender emotions."

Hi Helen. I agree that it needs a bit of work. I plan to expand it a bit and will address the.. them.. problem. Hugs.

I love this poem. It seems like reserved emotions were stolen by others in different relationships and there's not enough for any present self love. Love for oneself should always come first before others as one may never know what leeches are ready to suck it all away as they are never satisfied. The picture is lovely to go along with your poem. Well done!

My goodness, such a fascinating idea! I think this is very clever as well as tender and compelling. That would be a great idea for ridding oneself of a past where perhaps regrets prevailed. It also seems like a wonderful way to tell a current love he is the 'only one' that matters. I liked this very much. Good luck in the contest.

You got it, Adonna!!! Spot on. It seems that other reviewers see it through their own eyes and are coming up with other meanings. I so appreciate your thoughts!
