I couldn't agree with you more, Jay. Honesty is something that our country's leader has never had, in my opinion.

Honesty with self sometimes is hard for some, but as you say, it is the way to go. Nothing heavy to carry in your pocket of life.

Honesty can be so difficult sometimes as it coincides with vulnerability. Your poem is a good reminder that sometimes excepting that vulnerability will lead to more strength in the end, whether between two people or within your own character

Sir, that poem should be sent to the Congress of the United States. There are many, there, who need reminding, though I doubt it would help.
Good old American honesty, following the law , upholding the Constitution - seems to have taken a hiatus in the hallowed halls. However, I applaud your thoughts and your message.
Congratulations on being recognized.

-I agree that with truth the treasures do await,
and lying usually ends up hurting both parties.
-The last verses are also very true:
the truth will "bind you with a longtime friend."
-A very good closing couplet, too.

Amen Amen, Jay. The truth obviously hurts some people however. They have trouble discerning the truth from a lie quite often, I'm afraid. Good thing nobody is running our country who has that problem, eh? LOL What a mess. Bob
