Dear Mystery Writer,

Nice job. You've used only 22 or 23 words (I got a different count each time) you've shared a pretty complete story. Yikes!

This would be a rather tragic situation. Thanks and good luck!

Thank you for your words of encouragement and for reading and reviewing my flash fiction entry. You are appreciated. Blessings.

This compliant as fewer than twenty-dive words is allowed. This has twenty-three words. Would it have been more powerful, and still compliant to have used one more word and written the last line as 'He doesn't know I heard him say those words to someone else yesterday'?

Ahhh! This is my very first attempt at a flash fiction piece, and I was trying to figure out how I could use one or two more words with the most effectiveness. It did not even occur to me to put those words at the very end. duh! What if I ended it with one of these:
    "Really?"
    Big world.
    So what?

    Thank you for your suggestion.
