This is a lovely presentation with your well chosen picture along with your writing-they go well together and portray a positive attitude looking forward, not to the past.

Hello, anonymous,

Great entry for the 8-6 Syllable line count. writing prompt contest. Good contest rules format.

Excellent message about the new year and closing 2020. I'll toast to that.

Good luck in the contest.

This is a positive and optimistic poem, because it is looking forward to new possibilities unfettered by the difficulties of the past year - the door on 2020 has closed, and no negative comment is necessary. Well written.

This 8-6 syllable line count poem speaks metaphorically the end of the year - closing of the door, keeping and looking forward of the New Year ahead; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

I hope and pray that the new year will bring lots of great things for us. It is so good to see a new year roll in so we can leave 2020 behind. The vaccine has given us much hope and trust in scientists. Good health for Americans will hopefully happen.

I like the quiet optimism expressed in this short two-line poem. The Speaker talks of boldly stepping through a door into the future, then closing it--and the past--behind you. Rod

How clever and insightful. Just two lines and a total of 14 syllables. Excellent thinking. Did something prompt this poem or was it just thought of from some other happening or maybe someone else's happening? Very good work either way and I am so glad I caught it.
