This poem seems pretty deep. No pun intended. I can see how it could take on many meanings, depending on one's interpretation. I take it that some off the most beautiful things in life are birthed by that which is dirty and beneath most of us. But we have to take both to have both; to have the beauty and the meaning and purpose. You truly have a way with words.

I think your interpretation is perfect. Even a bit beyond what I initially intended. But, it is absolutely correct. Thank you. Doug

This is poignant and an excellent commentary on the way in which we view 'toilet water' versus how it is seen by others, who by necessity, see it quite differently. I need to point out one SPAG that I noticed in verse six, line two, first word. I think what you intended to say was "too" instead of "to." Please correct me if I am wrong. The picture is perfect for this marvelous piece. Well done.

Interesting point of view that quite puts a spin on what we know about this world: "A necessity
that
you and I
would crawl
to drink from.
The well
of humanity." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
