Very nice Lune poem. Lights do flicker and fade on these dark and sometimes dreary days. Especially this year with the pandemic all around. Thankfully, we are reminded at this special time of year that there is one light that never flickers and will never fade.

The scene in your lune is easy to visualize, but beautifully enhanced by that photo. Literally, a flame is lucky to flicker on a wintry day. Symbolically, our hopes do flicker during these lock-down times as COVID surges anew. Rod

Very nice verse. I hadn't thought of winter this way, but you are right..everything dims and the days are so short...It certainly gives us the idea of why our ancestors had so many fears and strange beliefs. Nice verse - well-written.

There is an eery feel to your words and I think most of us can relate to your words. We are living in dark times with the hope of light to come. Excellent use of words that are filled with emotion.

Great use of the candle as a metaphor for hope during a dark time. With the increase of Covid cases and deaths this winter, it has indeed been a dark time. Best wishes in the contest!
