Its so funny! Im actually watching that movie right now! Its running 24 hours on TV. You definitely nailed it with this poem! Eye intact! Lol. You'll shoot your eye out kid! Excellent poem!

Hi Mystery Author,
I'm watching this movie tomorrow night. Never miss it at Christmastime.
Ralphie wanted that Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas that year. In the end, he almost did lose his eye. "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"
I loved the part where he had to eat soap for swearing.
The syllable count is correct. I wish you Good Luck in the voting! A terrific choice of movie.

Enticing movie review. I looked it up, as I don't remember seeing this one, even though it appears to be a classic. Your haiku provides a good summary of what the movie is about, and the picture works well with it. It looks like fun.

I didn't see this movie, so the words don't quite make sense to me, but it appears to be a respectable contest entry, meeting the format requirements. Happy holidays!

Thanks for the memories. I love this film and it's kinda hard not to watch it on Christmas day as it's on just about every channel. Lucky us! This is a great little 5-7-5 and it should do well in the booth. Awesome presentation. Good luck! Lynda

    I think TNT shows it for 24 hours. Or one of those Turner channels. I read this to my boyfriend and we talked and laughed about this for a half hour. His favorite part was the lamp. Mine was the dogs stealing the turkey dinner. Anyways, thanks for these memories. Good luck!!

You'll shoot yourself in the eye Ralphie! My favorite Christmas movie, for just downright fun and nostalgia. You've captured it well in your Haiku, and the picture says it all. Best of luck in the contest.

This is my favorite Christmas movie. I love the nostalgia of it as well as the fact that i remember a lot of the same elements in my own life. Good write for the contest.

I laughed out loud over the last line. This is one of my all time favourite movies - Christmas or not. You've captured it perfectly in these three lines. A lovely Haiku. Well done.
