This poem made me smile. What a great combination of sorrow and defiance. And, what lovely imagery: "Its thorn, with scorn punctured our psyche..."
Very clever the way you worked in "zoom" in the final stanza.

Dear Sanku, I think we need not root out the virus, for it will eventually burn itself out. But your idea of spreading joy instead, is far more valuable than any medicine that could ever be invented.

You are correct that we as a world wide people will fight Covid 19 in any form that it arrives. The fact that the burgeoning pandemic is escalating at this time- will not dampen the strength of spirit of humanity. It can not or humanity is lost.
I count on the faith- the many faiths all around this globe- to come together around their own tables and join their prayers as one. No power or virus on earth can stop that!
