What a wonderful imagination you have there, our beautiful Lady Katharine! ;) :) Love your 'sonnet story' for the contest here and the fun image it gives to us all! ;) Thanx for the much-needed 'detour from the usual' and the big smile to boot - best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

This is a nicely written sonnet.very nice photo of the tree made from sticks also. Turned the sticks into a tree with tiny lights. Which twinkled in the cold on Christmas night. This is Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

thanks!! I added a star made of cranberries and a couple of short strands of tiny colored lights. Gave "him" a bit of color.

This is an imaginative poem from the perspective of the worried twigs. This boy is very artistic to come up with this idea. It is a beautiful Christmas tree.
Well done sonnet. Good luck in the contest
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I love the sonnet (nice job!)---but love the stick tree even more! I wouldn't have the patience to get through it...so kudos to the young boy who thought outside of the box. He made a thing of beauty!--Karenina

thanks, and I wouldn't have the patience, either. :) I love it and now I have a cranberry star on top and some tiny colored lights, too.

And if you spotted it in a kitchy craft shop downtown it'd cost a hundred dollars or more!--Karenina

He made a most beautiful tree. When my boys were small, we made things for the tree. It gave them such pleasure to see their handiwork shown. I hope this wins the contest. Good luck.

I am so glad I have a 6 left for this narrative masterpiece! It is superb in every respect--creative, skillfully composed, very descriptive, and--most importantly--powerful in its heartwarming message about the desire to be needed and to do something GOOD! Personification of the sticks is impressive.

What a wonderful idea to make this tree of sticks. With the lights added, it looks amazing. As you write, it takes patience to perform these magic feats. There must be great joy in doing something like this. Best of luck in the sonnet contest. This reads smoothly, and excellent job with the rhyme and meter. judi

Back in the fifties, we had little money after the war ended. We made Christmas decorations from paper and the glue was made from flour. I loved your Sonnet about the making of the stick tree and wish you well in the contest and...a Happy Christmas from Kay XX

we did, too - red and green paper garlands for the Christmas tree. I'd forgotten about making paste from flour and water. Thanks for reminding me. Have gotten to the point in my life where simple pleasures - watching the silly squirrels' antics trying to rob the bird feeders, music, talks with my sister in South Carolina, a sunny, cool day- these things take my mind off of what is happening in this country and my arthritis and this damn Covid.
Thank you for your lovely comments and a happy Christmas to you, too!
