How amazing that you had a light show! Every year when I was small we went to see the Blackpool illuminations and it was a great treat, also the lights at the Arboretum in Walsall, both events were joyous, you put your town on the map here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You have set your poem on a lovely black background with a gorgeous photo, spaced it well. The visual effect or layout even gives the impression of a Christmas tree! You recreate the emotions and sensations of the experience by looking at the place from both the eyes of the adults and the children. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be to tighten up the wording a little: in a few places, especially at the beginning, I found myself trying to find more of a cadence or rhythm. It just seems smoother in the second half. It has a great feel to it, thanks for sharing.

This is a wonderful light hearted poem which well meets the contest requirements. The image and coloration are great touches. The rhymes work well and the piece has a nice lilt to it.
