This concise, skillfully-written piece vividly describes the majesty and beauty of the snow--how it looks, feels, sounds as you walk on it. You have used an appealing blend of literal and figurative language.

This is a delightful, meditative poem that takes the reader into a quiet and peaceful "world in lacy white," where "There is no rush, no one to meet." Your description made me feel as though I could go there. I read Mary Kay's poem, and you've nailed the abcddcba challenging pattern. Well done.

Hello w.j.debi
I loved your beautiful Poem I could picture you walking within the snow globe and ---
Breathing in the glistening, silver sight,

How simply beautiful this is!!
I've always loved snow globes, and this
is so perfectly descriptive of one,
PLUS how we are in the snow globe itself,
walking in our winter world.
Just lovely!!
Blessings...

    Hi Pam,
Thank you so much for this excellent review. I appreciate the detailed analysis and am happy to hear you enjoyed it.
I understand about not posting during the holidays. I hadn't planned to post until the beginning of the year, but Helen issued me a challenge. Piper will be back then, and a new book I'm working on may be as well.
    Have a wonderful holiday season.

You are very welcome for the review, Debi, and I appreciate your reply. A challenge is a good thing once in a while. I'm glad to hear Piper will be back. Good luck with both projects.

I like a lot this lake reflection form. It's light, and it leads to a light meditation. My favorite line is this one: "there is no one, no one to meet..." Nice. This line invites to solitude, in the center of this chaos.

I like seeing winter as if one is in a snow globe. Your vivid use of words makes the reader feel like she is walking outside while the snow is falling. Excellent use of words that creates a clear scene.

Well, you have just written about snow flakes, given me a tour of what it would be like to experience crunch beneath my feet. I haven't experienced snow because we live in the sub-tropics. So, I enjoyed your walk with snow globes. Well done and Happy Christmas! K XX

    Hi Aussie,
Thank you for the kind comments. I am happy to hear this makes you imagine what it is like to experience snow. I have to admit, I like it when it is nice and gentle, but those blizzards are another story so you aren't missing much.
How nice to live in the sub-tropics.
Happy Christmas to you as well!

Heh! I knew there was a structure, and as soon as I saw the words "Lake Reflection" I figured it out. So cool! What a lovely poem, and makes me wish for a White Christmas, although I know that would be hard on many this winter.

    Hi Aiona,
Thank you for the generous six-star rating and your positive comments. I like a white Christmas too. If only it would last about a week and then warm-up. It's not the snow I mind, it's the cold that accompanies it.
