This is excellent. I looked at it on my tablet last night, and here on my laptop, it is so much nearer the straight sided isosceles triangle you are aiming for. So I am glad I waited till this morning to review it.

I am glad too... I think it shows up better there...for form. I have dithered with the content and still seem dissatisfied... its not saying exactly what I had hoped. Thanks so much, Jim! Melissa

A very well-written Nonet with perfect shape and a thought-provoking theme about everything we do start with a plan first and as soon as we start following the plan everything falls into place.

Ok, Melissa, I wish I had your way with words. You painted a picture and I see the painting. Good entry for the Nonet Poetry contest. Thank you for sharing. I'm a simple man with simple words, but I can get you there. :) Check out my post. :).

A perfectly shaped nonet, Melissa. Poetry is the art of connecting with other people with the resonance of writing their truth, using literary tools to bring "something" to life in a new way.

Wishing you much luck with the Contest Committee. :)

Hi Melissa,
This is a perfect nonet. The theme of how poetry can touch another with deep, even spiritual, meaning defines why we write in the first place. It's to affect others with love, fear, dread, laughter, etc.
I was going to enter this contest, but now... I don't know. You seem to have the winner here already.
Nicely penned! And I wish you Good Luck!
Hugs,
Kimbob

No, Melissa, we've been pretty lucky so far. All we've had is maybe an eighth of an inch, which didn't even last a day. We have had lots of rain though. Today, I changed the oil in my Craftsman Tecumseh snow blower, filled it with gas, and sprayed WD-40 on a few moveable parts. Ready for the snow! I can wait until December 24th though~ LOL!

You certainly made this look attractive. The words are arranged just perfectly. Your poem is skillfully worded. I don't think it's your intention, but it almost sounds like the writer is manipulating the readers, making them respond the way the writer wants. It's like pulling strings. Maybe the writer needs to feel strongly enough about his subject that he won't have manipulate. Just thinking. This is beautifully written, and best of luck in the contest. judi

Thank you Judi. I focused on your use of manipulation and reread my verse and decided to change it. I guess our society dislikes that word... but I thought it meant the skillful use of tools... or in this case poetic devices... anyway, guess I need to reword it. I really appreciate your wonderful review.

You're welcome. That was must my feeling, and your free to use your own words. Maybe we have come to think of manipulate as meaning to cause someone to react in a certain way. judi

A gorgeous Nonet, dear Melissa. I think we have a winner here. I withdrew my entry and I'm glad after reading this one. I do better within my own challenge for some reason. Less pressure. It looks like you have mastered this form. Sending you my best today as always and my very best for the upcoming contest,
Sal XOs....

Hello Sweet Sal... I had this one ready for your Nonet on the Nines and realized I could enter the contest too... LOL. Fun to be able to do both :). Thank you.

What a great description of what poetry should be. It's all the things you do very well. You make us feel what you are, see what's around you like we are there experiencing it with you. Make us feel the cold, wintry air despite it being a hot summer's day. Your poem is a well-written outline on the makings of the perfect poem. Your artwork is gorgeous. It does set the tone, the mood.

Hi Misty. Thank you so very much... I am delighted that you like it... and that artwork is so gorgeous. I wanted to find something precise, but nebulous too, similar to poetry. Much appreciated, my friend.

Absolutely, Melissa. That is what poetry is all about. To touch our heart and stir up our senses and I think you've just achieved that in this wonderful nonet. Good luck. Ulla:)))

Wow! Thanks for this lovely definition of poetry in your perfectly formatted nonet! You used metaphor and alliteration and expressed what we hope for most in a poem - a connection of hearts! Hope you do well in the contest!!

Hi Helen. Thanks so much... I hoped to share something meaningful and compare it to the fractal art that is nebulous, but mathematically precise. It was started in the mid 1980s. I find it fascinating. :)
