A very well-written poem in answer to the poem about the girl in the gray beret that touched your heart and were compelled to write the other side of the story from a girl's point of view.

I don't know Pablo Neruda, but I'm going to look him up. This poem of yours has so much lovely imagery in the lines, it's hard not to be taken in to enjoy. I was going to pick out my favourite lines, but each stanza stands out begging to be chosen. It's impossible. You've written a lovely ode to her and it was such a pleasure to read. Writing this type of poem is very difficult when you write it about yourself. You wrote it about another person; I love the look of a beret; it brings the beauty of sassiness to surface.

This is a lovely poem, a little like a dream being told. Oft I remember a tall young man I knew in school, who invades my thoughts at odd times. Thank you for sharing this dream.

I'm big fan of Pablo Neruda, too. I love his love poems. I like your descriptions:
rose petal hands.
my verses caught burning fire.
soft, like keeping a hush, autumn leaves nested in your heart.
