Hey Boogie nights,
I liked your Thanksgiving entry. I think that the sentiments of loved ones safe and close by is front and center for a lot of people this year.
Congratulations on your second place finish in this contest.

I think anyone who has survived COVID thus far is thankful to have "loved ones still well and close by, and who doesn't love the food you mentioned. You got my vote! Rod

Any poem mentioning cheesecake automatically gets at least five stars in my book. Cute couplet with end rhymes by/pie. I think you did a good job summing up what people should be grateful for. The turkey, of course, is probably less grateful.

You have covered the basic things to be thankful for. I am glad you put loved ones first. We all enjoy the Thanksgiving feast, but our family should always be our first thought.

I smiled. There is still reason to be thankful...although looking at the news today and seeing the amount of people boarding flights, I fear another extreme spike in Covid numbers in seven to ten days. As for my family? Hard as it is, we are each spending the holiday at home with only our immediate family...in hopes NEXT year we will not be among the 250,000 deceased!--Karenina

This is a very good poem for Thanksgiving Day. Just what the body and soul needs the more these days of chaos. The picture is delightful as well. I wish you a very nice day.

You've got your priorities right in this poem - thankful for people first and the scrumptious food second. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in New Zealand, unfortunately. It sounds like a lovely time.
