They are such a noble animal, they mate for life, and are replete parents and exemplary guardians. Beautifully written Gypsy. A wonderful 7/7 to round off the haiku, well done, blessings Roy

A very well-written couplet in addition to the multi-author Renga book about the serene silver lake at dusk where the pen cal ky puts her baby to sleep.

A clever use of words here to describe young swans on the gentle undisturbed lake, much enjoyed, a soothing evening scene before bedtime, love Dolly x

I love this continuation with its tender nurturing vision of the female swan and her cygnet at evening.. You found a clever way to avoid repeating words.

Beautifully penned Gypsy

Stay safe and blessed

Such a gentle, lyrical piece of writing, tender and beautiful. Nature with its peace and rest. I enjoyed reading it. Again, the photograph is the perfect setting for your work.

Ha, well it's a good thing you mentioned that a baby swan is called a flapper because I would still be puzzling over just exactly what it was. lol

Great job, Gypsy and another fine entry into your very popular Renga book. :)

When my family moved to Los Angeles from Brooklyn in 1955, we settled in an area called Silver Lake, because it has a reservoir--thanks for the memories. Thanks for adding your detailed couplet to the Renga book. I did not know baby swans are appropriately called "flappers"! -Joan

Thank you very much, Joan. I'm familiar with silver lake, my family went there for the summer camp. It was beautiful.

Another fine poem, Gypsy--proving once again, the Penne is mightier than the sword--eh, ha, ha, woo! Boy, was that ever lame--oh well, you're used to it from me!

Gypsy,

Nice one! Good addition to this collaborative poem. And, I learned the meanings of two special terms. Of course, without your notes, the poem doesn't gel in my brain. Very nice photo to pair with your verse.

Yeah, by the rules of Renga, I couldn't use swan, which was used in prior chapter. That's why I added the info in my author notes.

    Thank you :)

Wow! Thanks for teaching me about the "pen and flapper" and then we can't help thinking about the fountain pen and flapper since we're writers. So great word play and beautiful picture and poem!

Thank you very much for your review and kind words, be Helen. You are so smart, I didn't think of the word play.
