How much better can it get than to lead a dog's life?
Using the sweet antics of a contented dog and then contrast that joy with the sadness in your Author's notes was interesting to me.
Was that intentional?
On its own - your poem words say joy.....
In your notes- your words say despair.

Like I said life has its up and downs but at least for me I have always been able to deal and overcome the downs ..the woes ..

This covid issue instead has even bent our leaders , our governments.. by the time a vaccine will be available soon but our economy is already down the drain .. years of hardships are ahead of us .. life just won?t be the same again

The dog represents me ( and most of us) before covid ..we had a gip on our lives , our future and despite the woes that popped up we knew we could find a solution .. not now .. I feel weighed down by dread.

The photograph is beautiful and shows that animals can find happiness and beauty in the very simple things of life. So must we. I enjoyed your insight

Yes , we can learn lots from our pets .. just taking a walk out side in contact with nature can help with stress ..

enjoying sunrise or sunset .. all these wondrous things are free and have the power to bring happiness .. there is so much dread in our world now with this covid.

We need to keep our body and mind healthy and mother nature can help us do that .

Life is made up of ups and downs ..the down moments make us enjoy and appreciate even more the up / good times.

Since covid has hit us their has been no good times anymore just a slow decent into despair..

So one is left only to dream of better times ..
