"Peaceful existence" indeed. Away from swayed tech...in nature, listening to the leading of our spirit and creator of all nature.
Lovely artwork, color and presentation as well.

Thanks for the review, Linda. Gyspy Blue Rose is the person who started this book with a haiku, followed by a 7-7 poem that relates to the previous haiku. I am glad you liked the "peaceful existence, the artwork, and presentation. I am curious, did you ever go by a different name on FS?

Hi Pam,
My wife & I love to watch the birds at our feeder. Unfortunately, there are a lot of pigeons hanging around right now, And sometimes there's 4 of them trying to get sunflower seeds at the same time. Wings-a-flapping! But they scare our winter birds away... chickadees, sparrows. There have been a couple of blue jays around though. They are not so easily intimidated. We had a surprise visit today though... there may have been more, but we saw 3 evening grosbeaks!
I like your choice of words with "tuneful". Such a variety of birds, and such color. But they seem to get along. And I think that's the theme of your poem, a peaceful existence. Too bad we humans wouldn't learn a lesson from these songsters.
Nicely penned! I count 5-7-5 syllables.

Thanks for the review, Kimbob. I appreciate all of your comments and sharing about the birds you have. Too bad about the pigeons, but the grosbeaks sound nice. We don't have them in NJ. I am glad you liked 'tuneful.' I thought it was better than singing or chirping! Yes, the theme is in that last line. I am glad you enjoyed the poem.

What a cheerful picture and cheerful poem. That will be an uplifting entry for the Renga collection. That's what we need to have--peaceful coexistence. If birds can do it, maybe we can. The birds' cheerful songs and the calm lake add to the peaceful atmosphere. judi

I read your delightful Haiku yesterday, Pam, but had to wait so that I could give it the six it deserves. I love the sound of birds singing, we've had so many this year, it's been wonderful. I don't have the calm lake, but I do have a small pond, which has the same effect. Your poem had me looking out the window, wanting to go for a walk, but it's freezing out there. You have used your words to bring out the full impact of the birds singing and the sun glistening on the calm lake, it was just a pleasure to read. Very well done, my friend! Thank you for the exceptional rating and review, Sandra. Birds are delightful. Your pond sounds very nice, and makes a nice spot for wildlife and walking. We have had a few milder temperatures and a few sunny days. I think it is going to be cooler and cloudy today. I am glad you enjoyed the poem. Have a great day.

We have bird feeders for all the different types that come into our garden, and then they drink from the small header pond and take their baths. It's lovely to watch. Your poem is just what it's like but on a miniscule size. 😊

We have just one feeder, but we get a lot of birds. I figured the birds would love your pond for bathing and drinking, but I didn't know if it was too big for them.

No, the header pond is very shallow, Graham made it for them so they could stand in it and bath. You should see them, their wings are flapping all over the place as they wash underneath them, so funny to watch. xx

It sounds lovely. We have a black top road with a few small pot holes in it. After it rains, the robins love to be in them splashing all around. They are fun to watch.
