A very well-written poem. We are all born into this world equally and where we are born we should do what God needs from us, to help those in need and have faith in His Word.

Whenever I need inspiration and faith I look for a Roy Owen poem.
I think of people I have known who did their best with very little. They are just as equal as the scholar. Some are just good souls who can not do more than a basic job yet they are equal in His eyes and should be in society.
Always good writing Roy Owen.
Blessing

There is individual freedom and freedom that exists in our society and both are really important to live a full life. We reap the benefits of democracy and I am thankful everyday that I was born into it. As far as personal freedoms are concerned, I think that depends on our own mindset, a poignant write Roy, love Dolly x

I believe that man can learn from the wisest man to ever live. Vanity. Striving after the wind he called it. He was right.
Men die empty because billions won't buy them what they think they need. Jesus was so correct in his parables. A camel through a needle. Impossible.
I enjoyed it. I have critique, of course, but I don't like it when people write my poem, either. I think int time, the writer returns to his craft to figure it out. That's just me. I'll give my two shiny pennies, if asked. Cheers

You do a nice job of getting your points across in a lyrical way.
I like the artwork very much--it is quite striking.
The rhyme and meter both work quite well.
Some of my favorite images are:
"and spin our wheels on fortune's tar"
"other's robes are torn and frayed"
and
"The only freedom that I know,
is free my thought so I can grow."
Good job.

Your poem is excellent in all respects--skillfully-written, very descriptive,
and thought-provoking in its message about freedom. Some people go through life never realizing that the greatest freedom is that one finds in the Lord.

Comment from Gloria ....
Very deep thoughts to consider on a chilly Friday night, here. Of course some people are luckier than others in terms of many things, but it most certainly is as you write in your fine poem, how that is internalized and whether or not it is incorrectly assessed as superiority.
Excellent verse and many thanks to you for sharing. :)

Again I have the privilege of experiencing a Roy Owen poem and being glad that you came out of seclusion to share your meaningful and masterful writing. In a time when some scholars have deemed that Christianity is now a minority religion in our country, it is refreshing to read and relate to a message such as yours.
Thanks for sharing, and continuing success.
