I love your first stanza , it reminds me that sometimes I am using the heavy artillery's to impose my point of view: "Some verbal cannons shoot their load,
they target hearts, man's hopes erode.
And in confusion rant and rage,
and act like beasts confined and caged." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

It is sometimes worth remembering that some people shout abuse because they are unhappy with themselves and we must not take it personally. If it is a stranger it never affects me, only those I love and care for can hurt my feelings. A well rhymed and wise write Roy, love Dolly x

Love the use of the alliteration in the beginning. It's the kind of poem that clicks off your tongue and is more appreciated we you say it out loud. Rhymes seemed natural too, nothing forced and the message is always spot on.

Amen and amen! Thank you for sharing the godly attitude that we should all have. We all could be "full of faith, yet fringed by doubt." But as you said in the final stanza, we can boast in the work of Christ's work completed for us.

brought to mind Trump.
He is trying to stay in power by overturning a democratic election .

This is very true. There are so many voices that are angry and sure their message is right and everyone else's voice is wrong. They want to be heard and put down the opinions of others make them feel good about themselves. People are unhappy and unthankful for the good things in life. God's people are humble and thankful for connection they have with God.
