Your poem about how it was, how it is and how it will be, bring our attention to many things we forgot about its capacity of change. In your case, the tree as a silent witness... And the location where it is...
Nice recognitions and maybe . More to come! Picture has a message itself!!

This is a lovely poem about changes and it appears to also be a grand tribute to your dead loved one. Your illustration, of course, pairs perfectly. This is nicely done.

What a n emotional free verse. I didn't try to do a meter analysis since this is a free verse. This poem is beautifully written and full of emotion. I can tell your loser was a close one. I like the way you used the nature to express your thoughts.

Well done.

This is a wonderful entry for the Free Verser Club challenge. I thought the descriptive words created a vivid picture of the before and after scenes, and the touching ending made it all the more powerful. This is a beautiful free verse that I enjoyed very much. Thank you for the gift. MM

This is elegant. Your intermingling of the time passed in nature vs. the time-forged changes in your own life over ten years tells us all we need to know about this journey called life. They say the day we are born we begin the path to death...and I suppose that is true. More importantly, though is who we meet on our journey, how we interact with them--the gift of love given and received, the memories always treasured. Free verse often leaves me cold. You've reverently written a conversation between you and I. Between you and every reader who has ever grieved. Your beloved is waiting... All will happen in God's graced time!--Karenina

This poem struck a poignant note, as the speaker tells us of an unexpected loss which occurred ten years prior. It is especially meaningful during these times of pandemic.

I like the picture you have portrayed here. A graveyard can be a sorrowful place, and time certainly does change how it looks. It is sad to see the older graves neglected probably because there is no one left to look after them.

Anee, I so agree with you, it brings to mind to vividly just how many people are, in fact, alone at the end.

This is a lovely tribute to the sacred place by the tree. Places seem to change so much, and some things hardly ever change. Sometimes I think that it's me that has changed and not necessarily my surroundings. A wonderful response to the challenge, dear J.

Sending you my best day as always, and blessings for your day, Sally xo

Sally Law, it is my sincere hope and prayer that you and your loved ones are still able to rise about the forays for our current pandemic and practise enjoying living in the present moment, celebrating the Highest and Best life has to offer. JLR

Thank you, dear J. We are well and blessed. We have two family businesses and my daughter-in-law has her own pottery company and is doing very well. Our grandchildren are homeschooled and haven't missed a day. We are blessed and hope that you are too. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and celebration. Sally Xo

I loved the melodies of the language in this ode, I loved the alliterations, the rhythms of the meter, and the images were excellent too. You had a great melancholy voice here, and the narrative spoke of the unbridgable distance between the living and the departed, at least here in the cemetery. I liked the images of passing time, the tree getting taller, the grass growing unkempt, the wreath of faded flowers. Another great image is of the family silently mourning in an adjacent grave. You really get the feeling of unresolved relationships, things you wanted to say but didn't have time to say, and now, no matter how many times you come to the cemetery, you can't say them. Only the trees are listening. Nice job with this poem. estory

Congratulations on your work being recognized. This a beautifully sad piece of work. It is well written, and flows smoothly. It brought to mind memories and feelings of my late husband, who passed a year ago. It seems like only yesterday.
