And many more to come Melissa! Oh dear, a white Christmas is on its way for you! It will be amazing over Christmas and will stay a while until Spring. A warning indeed here with fine metaphors, love Dolly x

Hey Dolly... I know you will not see one flake where you are, but we are looking forward to seeing it coming down here in central VA. :). Thank you.

Hello Melissa!
What a gorgeous 5/7/5 offering!
And what a beautiful snowflake! Her brothers and sisters and dancing all over our deck at the moment!
Succinct and emotive images!

Best Wishes!

This is an action packed 5-7-5 poem. A perfect looking snowflake just landed on a deck which could be mine like an alien. I have to say that this snowflake is too perfect to be a real one. Blizzard will invade us soon.

Well done.

I don't kow where you got the picture, Melissa, but... it looks like a flower. I never seen snowflakes up close. :) I was checking the weather and it looks like you people up high are going to be under the snow. :) So bundle up and stay warm and safe. This is a good entry for the 5-75 Poetry Contest. Thank you for sharing.

You have used your seventeen syllables to describe vividly the b=very beginning of what will become a snowstorm. Excellent use of personification and metaphor

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the first snowflake that hits the ground is a clear warning for more to come soon be ready for the first blizzard of the season.

It's coming! We started a solar minimum, which means a cold winter. I see my calculations are correct. It's not climate change, it's the sun. It always has been.

Fantastic form, syllable count and theme for the 5-7-5. Superbly done, dear Melissa.

Sending you my best today as always, and blessings for the contest,
Sal XOs....

Melissa.

The war is on! Will the lonely snowlake survive the fall?

This is a great Haiku, even if the contest is 5-7-5 (-;

Like the phrasing and imagery especially for:

spit
burgeoning clouds
salvo

Methinks you will earn many votes for this contest entry.

Mark

Thanks Mark!! I was thinking along the lines of Haiku and used seasonal content. So glad you liked it :)!!
