This is an excellent story. The dialogue is crisp and realistic. Vivian seems very real to me too. You have created a great character and you are ready to leap into fiction (not just dip your toe.)

I enjoyed reading this short story. Vivian sounds like quite a character, and the picture reminds us of that. She really is a mess, but it appears she's still able to have fun.

My mum played bingo years ago, and would win small amounts. You have to be so quiet. I went once with her, and never again! I can understand Vivian being driven out of the hall, Lol, she would have been strung up if she'd stayed. Loved this one, it's a really funny story, Well done. :)) Sandra xxx

And a very good dip into fiction it is. I could clearly see and hear Vivian. I think there's at least one in every crowd. Anyone who can put up with that behavior deserves a medal.

Good characters are the bedrock of any good short piece. Your Vivian fits the bill. I like that you include details of her town and surroundings to give the piece context. I do feel a little left out--not knowing anything about the person narrating this story.

This story, Bingo Vivian, is one that smacks of truth all the way through. I have been to a couple BINGO tournaments and they are just like this. Hilarious character and story.

This Vivian is funny and obnoxious. She can't even play bingo. How hard is it? I guess she used to just get drunk. Now she has to play for real after her husband is gone.
Well done.

Well, it is hilarious and I think you ought to dip you toe into it more often. I guess I read the story when you introduced her because when I started reading this, i knew I'm met this lady before. Do some more Vivian stories.

You've certainly introduced some colourful characters in this and in graphic terms, Vivian being not the least of them. I can just imagine the scene.

I read your previous piece and I like this even better. My best friend is named Vivian, and though she's not much like your Vivian, it still makes me smile.
You draw your character very well. Her words and actions run true to form. I could imagine myself sitting on an empty seat in the corner of the room, watching.
I like the detail used, describing so well what everyone wore.
I particularly like the last line which brings us back to the beginning about Vivian going with her husband, but with the twist that she was only drinking.
This is my favorite image: "
Vivian ...let out a loud laugh that hung across the room like a mushroom cloud.
Very nicely done, indeed.
