Oh, this is too sad. I do hope the next day brings good things to cheer the poor thing up! Well done as always, though sad. I am looking forward to the next chapter. I saw no errors of course. =] Rox

What a lovely story relating to an old sad and happy movie "It's A Wonderful Life" is. We have it on DVD. I almost thought this was a true story but you have it as Fiction.
One possible change suggestion. day parade [until](in) perpetuity.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and critique. I have changed it but "until perpetuity" also means "until further notice." I changed it per your suggestion. I think it reads smoother. Thanks so much. Sending you my best today as always,

A very intriguing story, Sally! You've given us a bit of mystery, wrapped up in red roses. I like the way you included a hint of It's a Wonderful Life, which gives us all a warm fuzzy feeling.
You lead us to the edge of a precipice and left us hanging.
Take care,
Rhonda

I can't wait for part 2. Your writing seems so smooth and effortless, and the storyline is building very nicely. You've certainly piqued my interest.

Ok, Sally, the suspense is killing me. Why no roses this year? I can hardly wait to read part 2. I enjoyed your story. It read well with good pacing and great imagery. The image is beautiful. You led up to the cliff hanger well. I wasn't expecting the fact of the roses not appearing.
Thanks for sharing. Jan

Hello Sal.
This has all the earmarks of a romantic mystery. You built the curiosity through the story to the climax where The roses are not there. It is a mystery indeed.
I read this sentence a couple of times and I thought it read better by making the last phrase a new sentence.
"December is keeping me busy this year, as the season usually does. It is wearing me out."

Hi Sally, this is a lovely romantic story about this mysterious man who leaves lovely red roses for her. Meanwhile, she looks back on the lovely family life she'd had. But who is this man who suddenly doesn't leave her anymore roses. Ulla xxx

So sad that the mystery man didn't show up! The gifts and the mysterious giver reminds me of one of your earlier love stories. Hoping this one will also have a happy ending, too.
