I suspected Paul would not the act of abandonment rest. He was trained with the concept, more' and chant 'leave no man behind' Hopefully, he will instill that in his company.

Okay, I obviously missed a post. I will search and hope I find it. I can see Paul is a step above everybody else. It's hard for him to not to react to his previous knowledge, but he doesn't have the equipment. I can't wait for more.

Dear lancellot, I can see exactly what you intended from your authors notes "the introduction of the supporting characters" are coming fast so it will not be long before whoever joins Paul and his friends will reveal himself.
I am thinking that maybe Mr. Fenwick himself might be one of them.

Damn, but you are a good writer, Lance. And it's not just the configuration of words on the page, but in plotting and the timing of your action. Everything coheres and moves toward a satisfying experience for the reader. I'm glad I have one 6-star left. This is truly deserving.

This is a wonder of a post, a most imaginative version of a brave new world, where only one male was allowed to be born, and they've got giant spiders, one has attacked and presumably consumed Alfred, twin brother of Algar, however it's worked out that spiders usually stun and cocoon their victims as fresh meat for later so Alfred could well be still alive. An excellent post, well done, blessings Roy
