Thanks, Liz. Glad I got all that in. Bill

You make the state of Oregon sound so outdoorsy with its Crater Lake and those hazelnut trees and llamas. Interesting detail about the large cheese factory. I bet they're cheese is delicious. The forest fire devastation was such a tragedy. I can't believe you left out the months of rioting and devastation that lasted throughout the summer. judi

Too political for my demure sensibilities. : )

Well, up until recent events, I'd say my husband would love to make a trek to Portland for all those breweries! ;) :) And if you've left out any other fun facts than those here, I wouldn't know it, so great job! ;) Thanx for sharing the big 'O'.... :) ;) Yvette

I learn so much, so many facts on your postings of the fifty States. After reading I feel I know the State and have visited there before. Well done again!

Excellent Bill, and what a great idea for a book and guess it's got 50 pages, I thought there were 52 states without checking, obviously wrong. Thanks for sharing, very interesting and I wish I had some cheese in the house.

Thanks for the great review, Colin. There are 48 contiguous states and then Alaska above Canada and Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean.

Cheers Bill

Oregon is another state I've never set foot in, obviously you haven't either the way you just wrote facts no personal account. Very nice job. Keep'em coming.

Good morning Bill. Although I've visited Oregon several times I didn't know many of the facts you've unearthed. It's a beautiful state. Portland is rainy like Seattle. Known as the city of roses.
I visited the lodge on Mount Hood. One interesting personal fact is that I wrote a haiku about that mountain.
Mount Hood appears
at the bottom of the street
I miss the bus
Keep the states coming
Stay safe and blessed

I saw Mt. Hood once but from a far distance in an overnight trip to Oregon. It truly was a magnificent sight.
While I think of Oregon as one of the most beautiful scenic States, the information you gave is educational. Mt. Hood is the only thing I really knew about Oregon. I even forgot about crater lake.
Thank you
Mary

You sure do get around, Bill. But you do a good job in giving those who don't travel or know much about the history of individual states a lesson. This is another good one. Oregon was never on my list of travel sights but you make it sound pristine. Maybe, I'll add it.
Well done.

We may go there next summer, if we're not in the middle of a Hatfield and McCoy feud across the country.
Comment from Pam (respa)
-Nice image and
good overview of Oregon, Bill
-I could think of a few other
nuts to add to the list, but
I doubt they are from Oregon!
-However, I can add another
connection between Oregon and
NJ, and that is the town of Medford.
-That's where we live, in NJ:)
-I am intrigued by the mushroom;
does that mean the crop of mushrooms?
-This was very interesting.

I guess the base of the outcrops is continuous and unbroken for a hundred miles or more according to satellite imagery.

That is pretty incredible.
