Te development of the squad was very interesting. I wasn't certain Paul would prevail. But his endurance certainly is a factor. There are a couple of new characters we are already seeing develop. Well done.

I read this out of order, but I am glad I found it and it puts a few things in the correct order. I hate only being able to review on Saturday after I finish my school work and then on Sunday. It makes it hard to keep up with posts that I really like. Oh well, I retire in June.

Dear lancellot, your story I can follow both in action and in dialogue. I can see that with the formation of this new squad Paul will continue to thrive, if for no other reason than he has others to watch his back.

As I remember, Paul was a solider in a previous life so that gives him some edge. But it still has been sixteen years since he practiced and even then he didn't use a sword so that didn't give him as much edge as I first expected.

Thank you. Nope, Paul is not the best swordsman or even all that good.

Unfortunately, I have missed the earlier chapters.Nonetheless as I commenced reading I could relate to Paul's thoughts. That's because of the descriptive way you have narrated the story. Thanks for sharing!

Ravaged vs ravished--what's with the bruises? I shudder to think. Must have missed the last chapter--didn't catch the up-next I guess. As always, gripping narration.

It's ravaged because of the condition he left her. I don't like ravished, I think the definition has changed to include rape and force. And that's not what happened. Sometimes there are bruises if the person's skin tone is light enough.
Thank you very much.

Toss up which scenario is more disturbing--I hope you mean it was consensual and that he didn't mean to hurt her--ravaged generally implies serious damage.

Great description of the training. It seems to primitive, but it must have brought back memories of his former training to Paul. It seems that he's going to be so busy with training he won't have much time for Crista. He and Crista are starting out before they have nothing to call their own. Fenwick recognizes potential in Paul, as he has endurance. Paul also has his thoughts on teaching Crista, who doesn't seem to know much of anything, and providing a home for her. Great work. judi

Thank you very much. Oh, Crista, knows more than Paul. Her chapters are coming up.

You're very welcome. I'll be looking forward to what Crista has to say for herself. She seems kind of one-track right now. judi

As I had not read the before chapters I would have thought to be somewhat lost, but I was able to dive right in. I could feel the changes going on in his life and feel for him for the decitions he has to make.

Now that was an exciting chapter. You haven't been too idle in your hiatus. I like what I'm reading. I'm a little lost about the time travel aspect, but I did miss some earlier chapters.
how bad you are and how drinking I will need to do." [...how MUCH drinking?]
Thank you for entertaining me.
