Absolutely a spirited and strong entry. When using the true story of Adam and Eve it can be a blessing to take it and create a work of art or fiction to use as a teachable moment. I'll be honest with you, I'm not sure what a lummox is. But in my eye, I saw the look on Eve's face when she said it. Perfecto!

Hello Forestport. Thank you for the great review and rating of my flash story. I?m glad you enjoyed the true tale of the garden. We owe a great deal to Eve.
Lummox is thought to have originated from the expression "dumb as an ox." Today it means someone who does things without thinking, also someone who is clumsy.
    Have a great, safe day.

Dear buddy, I know Barbara will love this short story of Adam and Eve, because every woman knows that men are like that. Your parting line is priceless.
I hope all the judges in the CEC find this story as funny as me!

This is a cute alternate reality version of the scene in Eden with the Adam. It seems Eve had already taken a trip to the future since she and learned a new word and that Adam didn't know. Adam does sound like a lummox.

Thank you, Beth, for reviewing my flash story. I?m glad you enjoyed the true tale of the garden. We owe much to Eve. Adam, well, his vocabulary, among other things, is a bit limited. :)
    Have a great, safe day.

Lol. Well, you've changed the whole Biblical story to avoid placing the blame women for the Fall. Even in the Pandora story, it's the woman who caused evil to enter the world. Appreciate the self-sacrificing Eve story.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you, Helen, for reviewing my flash story. I?m glad you enjoyed the true tale of the garden. A bit ironic that men wrote all those stories blaming women. I think it's time someone balances the ledger. :) Thank you for the best wishes.
    Have a great, safe day.

Oh dear, the apple that made Eve smart had the opposite effect on Adam. Maybe he didn't pick the right one.

I like your cryptic and well written story.

Good luck in the contest.

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

Thank you, Julia, for reviewing my flash story. I?m glad you enjoyed the true tale of the garden. I doubt any apple would have helped Adam, though it did satisfy is hunger. We owe much to Eve. Thank you for the good luck wishes. Have a great, safe day.

What! Is Adam taking the blame? I've always said no one put a gun to his head when Eve offered him the fruit. Why should she take all the blame? Nice, Robert.

-Very good image and
presentation for the book, Robert.
-I always wanted to know
the history of the apple.
-A very good beginning
that captures our attention.
-Eve obviously has a little
more going for her than Adam.
-He was just hungry, and thought
nothing of the apple or his
current situation.
-Eve has the right idea to
go to the future, but I think
she will have to explain it
all to Adam first, and then
it might be too late!
-A very good entry for the contest.
-Good luck!
-I also think this calls for
a follow up about the "big lummox!"

The Big Lummox, there are many who might fall into that category. It would be an epic story.
    Have a great, safe day.

You are very welcome and deserving, Robert. You have to start somewhere; I'd like to see what happens-maybe start in the room where it did, ha, ha.

This is a great gift. Thank you very much. I love the luminosity and the clarity of the image, which matches the clarity of the story. The last two lines made me laugh, a sure sign of a good Flash.

LOL I enjoyed reading your contest entry. I believe it will show well. It has all the right ingredients. It tells a story, has plot, setting, characters, and a problem and solution and it's funny. Just in case, I'll wish you good luck.
