Wow, lots of action in this chapter, but I really enjoyed learning about New Orleans traditions and customs. 1977 looks like good yer indeed. Think you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

The information about Mardi Gras was so interesting. I had no idea that it started so early and finished on Fat Tuesday. And, all the information about so many parades was also interesting. You surely were never idle. My goodness, how did you keep going? Sad to hear your brother-in-law died. The start of sadness.

Hi Beth. This is a very informative posting from start to finish. I had no idea at all about the parades or dubloons.

I liked this part especially well.

"This year, in 1977, Henry Winkler, the Fonz, of Happy Days had been selected as the reigning monarch of the Bacchus parade. The parade was in downtown New Orleans at night and the kids persuaded you to take us." I would have gone gladly. LOL

Good writing, my friend. Bob

I remember those TV shows very well. That was when TV was worth watching. I rarely even turn it on now-a-days. I have never seen the parade in New Orleans but have been there when it was all decorated, but left before everything got starte. Thank you,

Thank you so much for the review and comment. Yes, I still enjoy the reruns to some of those shows. Most of them on today aren't something that appeals to me.

Another wonderful story from you. I swear girl you have total recall! Did you keep a diary? I find your story interesting and always look forward to it. Well done. Nancy:)

Thank you so much for the review and comment Nancy. I don't keep a diary. I've started them but I never get past the middle of Jan. My kid think I have a good memory but I'm sure I've forgotten a lot.

Hi Beth, I liked this continuation to your story. It's interesting to learn about the carnivals in New Orleans. I've been there a few times but never at that time of the year. Now, I'm also curious why neither of you would go on a Saturday. Is it the Sabbath for you?
Also I' not entirely sure what a 'krewe' is. It may be a good idea to put it into the notes.
It must have been frightening not being able to find your kid.
Well written, as always. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla. I appreciate the review and comments. A krewe it word they use in N. O. for their clubs. Since Marti Gras started as a French Celebration, I assumed that was French for club, but I'll research it. Our church services are on Saturday. It is too easy to lose a kid in a crowd. I'm glad they are able to keep up with themselves now. LOL

Dear Beth, outside of a few typos. this chapter is full of many interesting things. About the Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's celebrations in New Orleans, but touches also on each family member's reaction to such frivolity.
In addition you gave information about the family and what happened as the children grew and revealed their individual talents and preferences.

Thank you Suzanna, I always seem to have a few typos. Mary Kay B. usually gets on it and finds them all for me. I hope she sees this one I appreciate the review and am glad your continuing to read.

The parades sounds so fun, festive something to definitely see. I can't even imagine the horror you went through when you couldn't find the twins. I'm just glad they're alright. My grandma was the same way, she never learned to drive until after Grandpa passed. It was a big adjustment for her. I do hope 1978 is better for you. Your story is well-written, interesting. With everything you've written, I almost feel like part of the family watching the kids grow.

Thank you so much for the review and for the comments. The parades were a lot of fun, especially for children. I'm glad you feel like a part of the family. I'm pretty much telling it all, good and bad.

I like how different all your children are. And boy, those crowds would scare me away. How awful you must have felt when you thought you lost Don! I'm impressed that Carol wasn't a bit fussy about her appearances. She must have been very self-confident!

Each krewe mints a new doubloons (doubloon) because of 'a'
The flowers would [be?] awarded to ladies

Thank you for the review and comments and for noticing the spags.
Yes, my children are all different. They don't really even have much in common in looks. I'm glad they all different, but they are all creative. However they styles of creativity differ.
