No! I hate it when the chapter ends like this! I wanted more! lol. A red long-stemmed rose is a classic gift, reminds me of one of those movies. :) Man, I wish The Shadow would just go somewhere else! Give Joseph so private time, but he actually ate her boyfriend. That's so crazy how this story is. I might go back and read the very first chapter to fully understand it, but this is great! I did notice a small thing: "Whys that?" I'm not really sure if that's an actual typo but I'd suggest you write it like, "Why's that?" And also, will there be more language in the rest of the chapters? I'm not a huge fan of swear words besides the 'D' word.

I really enjoyed this! Can't wait to read the next chapter of The Curse...

Thank goodness for the waiter's timing. I hope he does take care of Veronica and leaves Jessica alone. What he said to Veronica made me laugh. It was well deserved. Your story is well-written, very interesting, realistic. Your dialogue seems natural and your characters really come to life. Like always, I look forward to reading more.

So glad you mentioned Carrie's boss. I got that idea from my own experience with a previous boss. She treated me rotten. This is a way to have my own personal karma since I don't have a Joseph or a Shadow to take up for me. Hee-hee!

So, it seems to me there is hope for Joseph, even with the shadow inhabiting him, it seems to me he is capable of good things, I wonder if he'll be rescued by the covenant, or some other supernatural force, if he's strong enough to resist, he might be able to rectify this. Yes, Joseph is truly a good person, he's just being controlled by the Shadow. You know me... I always want to turn the villain over to the good side. You maybe right about the Covenant. There might be a solution in the plan to help him, or maybe... Carrie will save him.

I do enjoy writing Joseph's character. He has had a rough childhood and now he's being controlled by the Shadow, believing it cares for him. Hopefully, someone will help him through his challenging situation and rid him of this evil entity before it's too late.

Glad you enjoyed the chapter and the scene between Joseph and Carrie while they go out on their first date. The Veronica scene is from one of my bad bosses. I just wish I could of had a Joseph to put her in her right place. Although... I think the Shadow may have plans for Miss Veronica. Hee-hee!

Another great chapter, Ms. Shana! And wow, the photo is very captivating. Looks like Carrie's boss my get some karma coming her way according to the Shadow's reply. Can't say I sad if it happens. Lol! I've had one of those boss types I wouldn't mind giving to the Shadow.
It seems that Joseph has some remorse at the end when Carrie brings up her boyfriend's death. I'm curious to see how this plays out.
