Excellent job on crafting such a complicated verse, Franca. I enjoyed reading it and your rhyme choices were perfect. Well done.

Thank you Suggaray for the enthusiasm

I?m not much for formats and get mixed up but for some reason I wanted to tackle this one.

    It seemed a worthy challenge..

in the contest it flopped .. it received only one kind vote ..

Nevertheless I was personally happy with the final cut!

    Keep safe!

What a wonderful subject you thought of. Very well written. I remember when the movie Camelot came out, the one with Richard Burton. I thought it was the most wonderful movie I had ever seen. I don't remember what year that was, I think I was kind of young and immature.

I saw the version with Richard Harris ( 1967) , Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero

I saw it in the late 70s.

I don t even like musicals but I loved it ..

maybe cause I had a crush on Harris after seeing him in

A Man Called Horse 1970...I was just a kid ..

Glad you liked my entry .. it flopped in the contest ..one kind vote ..but I know it was a good effort.

I?m not very good with formats but this time I got it right.

I enjoyed the challenge complements Becky Kern Taylor for creating this format!

Interesting subject for the contest, and best of luck. You tell the story of how Arthur and his knights sought peace and justice. When there was a scandal over the Queen and Lancelot's affair, that brought an end to the idea of Camelot. Is it ever worth it to fight over a woman? It brought an end to the dream of Camelot. You did an excellent job with the 8-6 couplets. Great job! judi

Thank you Judi for the extra shiny star ..glad you thought my entry was worthy of it

King Arthur had much affection for Lancelot too ... he was the noblest of his knights .. its was Arthur s inaction towards their crime that caused the fall of his kingdom and his dream

The bridge in the pic is famous because the bridge and its image on the lake s waters create a perfect circle (in Kromlau Park)

The bridge is call Rakotzbrucke and can be found in Germany ..

To avoid massive maintenance visitors are no longer allowed to walk on it.

I chose it for this entry cause it appears to be medieval and has that fairytale vibe about it...

The bridge actually is not that old .. built in 1860.

I have long enjoyed the Arthurian legend. In this 8-6 poem you capture very well the legend's essence--Arthur creating the Round Table, Guinevere's affair with Lancelot, and ultimately the destruction of Arthur and many of his knights. Rod

His dream was noble but his inaction against the two he most loved comprised everything.

I don?t like musicals but Richard Harris , Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero in Camelot (1967) is one of my top favourite films about them.

And who can forget Robert Goulet singing ?if Ever I Would Leave You??

Oh my lord .. Richard Burton played King Arthur on stage ??

I didn?t know he could even sing ..

Richard was one of my first crushes as a child

I love the Robe , Sea Wife , Alexander the Great, Rains of Ranchipur , Touch of the Medusa....

I do love the song :if ever I would leave you ...

I checked it out sung by Robert Goulet .. a singer I have never heard of ..
    beautiful deep warm voice ..

    Thank you for sharing!
