I love the alliteration in the first line, Bill. You are definitely not a one note writer/poet. You do it all, and so well.
Good luck in the contest, my friend.

I like how you played with the "G" in the first sentence, "goblins go gob'ling." Then set the scene in the next, "at some cemetery scene." Then end by wishing everyone a "Happy Halloween."
It is short and sweet but gives you a big picture in your head.

Great presentation here with both your colorful picture and your well chosen words for the Halloween Haiku contest. The colors in your picture really make your presentation a bit more fun. Best of luck.

I think this is a good entry for the Halloween Horror Haiku contest.
This short piece paints a clear picture of horror.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

I thought this was a fun poem. I like your Happy Halloween message. Not sure what goblins do when they are gob'ling so I think a little more detail in this poem would make it stronger but I understand you only have three lines to work with.

Three lines, seventeen syllables, and no life lesson from the graveyard. : )

Happy Halloween to you, too, Bill. That's a great Halloween picture!
I like the alliteration in every line... with "g/s&c/h".
I count 5-7-5 syllables and the first two lines are connected.
I especially like that first line,
"goblins go gob'ling", and the rhyme of "scene/Halloween".
Good Luck in the contest!
Cheers,
Kimbob

This Halloween Horror Haiku misses its mark slightly in my opinion. It starts off fine with a good scary 'population' in a scary setting, but the last line is a twist away from fear and horror towards the more prosaic version of Halloween.

Thanks for sharing your holiday spirit with this 5-7-5 haiku and accomanying artwork. You helped me get into the spirit of the celebration and encouraged me to carve the pumpkin I bought! I enjoyed your use of alliteration as well. Cheers and best wishes in the contest- Joan

I love this! Indeed many goblins will be out and about on Halloween, hopefully a few trick or treaters as well. They haven't yet banned that here in my Minnesota city, so here's hoping. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
