Exceptional

Nothing ever stays the same, as the world revolves around us. Love, death, grief all come into play along life's highway. We learn to cope and accept what is and there are some things in life we cannot change. Yet life goes on with or without us.

Michael you are so right ...love is so inexplicable...1000 words and more wouldn't be enough ....as many poems that are dedicated to it ...love is love, grief is grief and loss is loss
Well done
God bless
Happy new year2014 !!!!!!!

This is such a well written poem. Your ending is excellent - the writer tells us what true love is and I find myself agreeing with every word. I was particularly struck by your fourth stanza. It reminded me of something you said earlier in another poem - about how good FS is as we say in our poetry what we would not say to anyone in the flesh. How true! This will have to be a virtual 6 - none left. But well done. Happy New Year - Regards Dorothy

michaelhill:

Your words regarding love certainly wax eloquently
through your entire poem, but none so much as the
last two verses. I was very moved by your words.
thanks for sharing

love,
jan

You are right. Loss in all inclusive. Love and grief go together. Love lasts forever, we do not. I lost great grand parents, grandparents and parents. I grieved for them all. I buried babies and grieved. But I had others who needed by love and care. I wanted to love and was rejected. I found love and spent the rest of his life with him. I grieved. But love and grief go together. There is one way to avoid grief. Hate and don't love. NO THANKS. Great work.

I love this one. Very deep and thought provoking too. I especially like:

"Life is so awfully uncertain and imprecise
for in life there is always give and take"

Your notes were excellent too. They were the icing on the cake so to speak.

Definitely an exceptional poem, Mikey.

I love it!

"Life is so awfully uncertain and imprecise
for in life there is always give and take"

Everything comes with a price.

Life is such an irony sometimes..well, if you think about it, we are all marching toward our deaths. very depressing, but I guess that's how reality works. We try to keep ourselves alive, but death always comes along.

One life. The best we can do is treasure it. (just a thought)

" begs for clothing and a polite glance away"

Beijing used to be so different..I remember walking to Tiananmen..beggars just sat on the streets. Most people didn't look twice at them..no help was given.

sad reality.

beautiful lines:

"And finally our grief
becomes the only love
that receives no response
and needs none"

love it. very philosophical and poetic.

hugs

Amanda

There are so many way to lose someone, and all leave a hole in your heart, a missing piece of your soul. This is very well written. Thanks for sharing.
