What a wonderfully fun poem you have written. We never had grandchildren, as my dearly departed wife would tell anyone who would listen, "I woke up one morning when I was forty-five and realized I had forgotten to have children!"
However, I have known others who have shared your joy that you reduced to fun, relatable words. Excellent writing. Terry.

What a cute poem about your very cute grand daughter. I'm sure she is actually even cuter than the art piece. You described her so well and I can visualize her action.
"can't be beat" -> "can't be beaten"?
I have used exactly the same way and Grammerly told me I shouldn't.

Hello Terry. Thank you for your lovely review! This is our one and only at the moment... she makes my heart melt. I beg for poetic license to use the word 'beat'... don't tell grammerly on me. LOL

Oh, I'm so glad you are writing poetry for your granddaughter! There's nothing so delightful as watching your grandchildren discover the world. Hope you will write an entire book for poems for her!!

Thank you Helen... they are asking me to write poetry for her... but how can I compete with Dr. Seuss??? LOL

Well, keep reading Dr. Seuss to her but your poems are better! And she'll love knowing that it's for her and by her favorite grandma! 💖

I have three grandchildren, my two girls are grown and my grandson is 5 years-old. But I still remember when they were babies...they are so precious. I cared for my grandson full time, so I spend a lot of time with him. Your granddaughter, Rosalie sounds adorable.
The rhyme flows well and doesn't sound forced.
Well done!

I used to toss my daughters in the air, and catch them again, fortunately for them, but me as well I always caught them again, there's always a small danger we may drop them, but I took great delight in hearing their chuckles of delight when I did, such precious ones, beautifully written Melisa, blessings Roy

Hello Roy. Thanks so much. As a father, I knew you would understand. I am enjoying being a grandmother and she just melts my heart. I had to write a bit of something about her :). So glad you liked it.

Those little ones get around, don't they? They have to be watched, because it takes just a minute for them to get into some trouble. They love to explore, as you illustrate in your poem. Great description of your little one with the sticky smile and tottering legs. Excellent rhyme in each stanza. Oh, what personality she shows. judi

This is a charming poem. I've never had children of my own but I was blessed with the opportunity to baby-sit my (surrogate) daughter's new born. She is 2 1/2 years old now and it is such a gift to be part of her life. Your poem reminds me of Kathryn when she was that age.

This has a wonderful lullaby rhythm to it. You should be writing children's books. You are talented.
I saw no grammatical errors in you work. great job!

Hello Douglas. Thanks so much. I love writing little things that I think children would like. Perhaps, some day I will write those books. :)

This type of subject is just made for rhyming verse and rhyming verse was just made for this type of subject. It is a perfect match. The poem's energy matches that of the child.

Thank you Jim. I have really been proud of myself for not overloading FS with poems about my one and only granddaughter, but a bit of self indulgence is warranted now and again. LOL. Thanks again.
