I liked this a lot! The twist really caught me by surprise It's very well done and so sweet. Lucky young lover to have such a rich guy looking out for him. Very well done. Thanks for sharing this

Wow, Thanks for the six stars and the review, you are very kind, Terry.
Comment from Carol Hillebrenner
Very nice story, very well told. If that is the cat picture, I didn't realize Warhol did animals, not that I studied Warhol when I thought I was a serious artist. I wasn't, but I think I'm doing better as a writer. Now I appreciate Warhol more than then. And I really appreciate you found humor instead of embarrassment in being thought gay.

Thank you very much. The artwork is from 1954, in a series called "In the Garden." His mother had a cat named Sam, and he did a book called: 25 Pussies Named Sam. Terry.

Haha...very funny, nicely done.
I hope Kirby and Zoe don't fight over who the picture is really for.
Yes, preconceived notions are a plaque.
Some must face it every day.
A happy holiday season to you.
And I hope to read more of your work in the upcoming year.

Sadly, Zoe died three years, we had no children, so Kirby gets the Warhol when I die, it is in my will. Thank you for the review! Terry.

This anecdote illustrates the underlying prejudices that people carry, often scarcely recognising that they have them. Beautifully understated for maximum impact.

This is a great story about prejudice and preconceptions that can be purely invented, rather than 'real' prejudices that people feel. As such I found it interesting to see how easily we can be placed into stereotypes

Comment from Earl Corp
I'm not sure if this was really a case of prejudice as much as an assumption on the guys part. I think it would have mattered more if he said he fleeced the older gay guy. Good luck in the contest.

LOL, I love it, Earl. I don't think I got fleeced, but that is funny. Thanks for reading and commenting, Terry.
Comment from Gloria ....
If that is Warhol's watercolour in your artwork, it is very well done. He was an icon for the Gay community, so I suppose this "assessment" albeit incorrect was part of the folklore and legend that surrounded the sale of the blue cats. This is one fine example of the fallacy of correlation and causation, out which arises often incorrect assumptions that can be quite damaging.
What a fine and most unique true story, so I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee. I truly enjoyed this. :))

Dont you just love it. Judgementalism thy name is mankind, I must admit I have to check myself when it comes to that. I was a competitive sportsman when younger and was used to locker room banter, which hallmarked all the social prejudice one can get, somehow collective cavemanship was more manly than anything, how wrong can one be! Beautifully written my friend, hilarious, blessings Roy

Comment from Loren .
You set this up beautifully. An encounter with a clerk sans the backstory . The prejudice begins : two men, and an Andy Warhol admirers of all things! That being said, the prejudice is vindicated, but possibly to the wrong person. Well written! Loren

A story that is interesting with an unexpected ending. The pace is good. The language is friendly and playful as fits the situation. The ending has a nice twist.
Thanks for sharing.
