Sure, Nancy, I'd love to dance. I prefer the Rumba myself, though (LOL)...
Thanks for the great review! :)

Thanks a million, Charlotte, and thanks for sponsoring such a fun contest, too. I really enjoyed doing something other than 5-7-5 and haiku, LOL.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas! :)

You're welcome. I like to sponsor fun contests. I liked your G'Ma poem, very much. .I wonder if our "suggestions" for improving FanStory even got to them . I see no improvements at all and some suggestions were very valid.

Oh dear, Santa has been shot twice on FS, once with my poem and once with yours. Well its surprising it hasn't happened soon. Crazies with guns are unpredictable. Great rhyme and meter in the contest poem. Merry Christmas

Thanks a bunch, Carolyn, I'm really glad that you liked it. He got himself shot in your poem too, did he? That old guy's like a cat, with nine lives, LOL...
Merry Christmas to you!

The granny did succeed getting her revenge on the reindeer only Santa was included. Maybe her vision is no longer 20/20. LOL. You were so clever to make up such story and infused it in this poem. The humor is well placed. May Jesus bless you.

This is ingenious, and I remember listening to "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" many times. The tune was irresistible. I am glad you allowed Grandma her chance to get revenge, although she went a bit too far if she has her gun fixed on Santa Claus. Well, it might be hard to do any damage what with the extra padding. Those reineer are just asking for it, running over Grandma. She's a spunky old gal and recovered nicely thanks to some Jack Daniels. Great rhyme, and the humor follows that in the original song. judi

Sad - another story of out-of-control elders... do these gun-toting hoodlums have no respect for the moral sanctity of Christmas traditions?!? Everyone knows that St. Remy Brandy goes best in eggnog... the Jack Daniels should never have opened... 'till after the New Year.
Never really liked that song much - your version is an improvement! Nice update on the profile pic.
Good luck in this wacky contest!

Hah, thanks, Christina. I would have sang it myself, but felt there was no sense in making everybody ill for the holidays, ya know? Many folks have dinners to go to, or make, LOL.
Thanks again! :)

Hello Poet,
This is a funny poem! I've always loved that song. Your story follows the old tune in an original way that tickled the fancy, lol.
Check your third stanza, last line, "dear old grandma (looks?) likes she could skin a bear..."
Other than that, a good entry...my best of luck for its success.
Happy Holidays, Bill

Thanks a bunch, bill, I'm glad you liked this cr-a-a-a-a-z-y thing, LOL. I also appreciate you spotting the typo for me. Perhaps I should lay-off the Jack Daniels' while I'm writing poetry, whaddaya think? Heh-heh...
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas! :)

Hey, whatever it takes to stoke the fire within, lol. Jack and I used to be good friends but he kept giving me a headache...or maybe it was my wife trying to beat some sense into me with a frying pan, lol.
Have a great day, Bill

Hah, yeah, I was just kidding too. I'm not permitted to drink alcohol any more, given the heart medications they have me on. Maybe I should just lay off those for awhile? Nah. I want to live awhile longer, LOL...
Thanks again, Bill. :)

Very humorous poem! I was reading the poem, as I was following the song in my head. That is one tough Granny! Well written and lots of fun!

Thanks, MelB. I provided the music at the bottom to sing along with, if you wanted to. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! :)

I don't know if you'll win your contest, but you did win a chuckle for me. I've always hated the "run over by a reindeer" song, so liked your version much better. Warm regards, Bill

Oh, my. Oh, my. Oh, my. All my Christmas favorites twisted and tortured into mush. What a great choice for this prompt. Thanks for the music ---a dirge for the old edition would have been appropriate, too. Clever and cute. Luck in the contest.
