What an imaginative story here, Beth! And yet I did have to check that it was, in fact, fiction. You never know because we're being constantly told that we use only a small portion of the brain. And some of the experiences people have, especially under the influence of drugs, defy explanation. I found a small edit - 'discern'; "He informed me the dimension....parallel to (the) ours? But this is an excellent read for this brief and I wish you good luck! Debbie

Thank you Debbie, I'm pleased that you thought it might be a true story. I'm a realist and I needed to imagine it could really happen in order to write it. I appreciate that you found some things that need a correction so I could fix them.

Beth, a virtual six for this powerful piece of writing. Sorry I have no sixes left. This was so very real, vivid and believable. Generally I don't go for fantasy or sci-fi but this was a wonderful, and imaginative, piece. Well done and best wishes for the contest.

Thank you Wendy. It was my first attempt at writing Science Fiction. Until I saw Sandra Mitchell's work, I avoided reading it. If you like it couldn't be more pleased.

I like the clever lead-in to spiritual themes and an appropriate message.

On google, read about how head injuries do often lead to super powers. Many well know people who are inventors or amazing artists and musician have had head injuries.

Beth! That was brilliant! I have big competition here!!! I loved this story, and what's more, it could be true! They say we don't use all of our brain because we wouldn't be able to handle it, so......??? This is a brilliant Sci Fi story, my friend, I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish you the bet of luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra, I not a science fiction writer. I've never even thought of trying to write it before. I don't have the imagination you do. I'm too much of a realist. I had to write like I believed it could possibly be true. I'm thrilled with your compliments but you have no competition from me. Thank you for a great review.

I enjoyed this very much. Don't put yourself down, this had a lot of imagination in it, you could never have written such a clever story had you not got that sci fi imagination!!

How fascinating, some science fiction writers have maintained that there are other parallel universes and we can communicate, with them, but it defies scriptural knowledge, unless one thinks of angels and their abilities, I've never seen them, but others claim to have seen them, I withhold judgement, but I do know things beyond my rational understanding, but if God's Spirit lives within me, that should be natural, well done, blessing Roy
Typo : Trusted (on) not. Or?

Thank you Roy, I'm not sure it defies spriitual knowledge. The BIble says angels and demons are all around us. We don't see them unless they want us to. Where are they? I've had an unseen force take over the car I was in to prevent a wreck, I've had dreams come true. I'm not convinced all this isn't possible.

It?s not the way you presented it Beth, you didn?t mention God or angels once, that?s why I said what I said, I?ve had a huge encounter with God, but my encounters have been Spirit to spirit since. God does what the wind does. But mine is relational. I don?t know why God chooses His mode of communication, not me, but your encounter should include that familiar voice, ?My children know my voice.? We have a commission to reveal Christ girl. .

I didn't want to put God into a Science Fiction story because God isn't fiction. I was hoping some might realize it was about angel and demons.

I threw away my science fiction books because of these very reasons Beth, people cling to any story that sits apart from God, accountability is the reason, like visitations from otherworldly beings my friend, where they place their hope. I have no desire to discourage you, you don?t have to defend your work, just pointing out my experiences, but it?s up to you, I won?t mention it again,

Note to self: Do NOT get a head injury! YIIIIKES!! What I found so stunning and unnerving about this piece is its believability. It's told in such a way as to make me think it could be real. And if you know anything about me, it's that I am VERY much a realist. Eliminating bull-you-know-what wherever it may be is my favorite Job One. It's one of the biggest reasons why I never read Sci-fi. So, consider it the quintessential compliment I can bestow when I tell you this sci-fi passes the Believability meter in the biggest way. I bet anything this one makes it to the Winner's Circle!! Good luck! xo

Thank you Rachelle. I'm very much a realist too and I've never written Science fiction and don't particularly care of it, so for me I had to write it as if it could be real. Actually some of it, but I'm telling which parts.

This was a very compelling story that you have written for this contest. I wish you the very best in a contest. As I listen to the story, I was mesmerized by the wording. Have a good day and a nice weekend and God bless. Patricia.

Oh, wow! For a moment I thought this was real and then I saw where it was a fantasy story contest. I am not sure about the brain but I do know we use very little and much yet to explain. Good one, Beth. Win the thing.

Thank you for a great review and six stars. I've read about brain injuries causing seretonin to leak into the right side of the brain and cause interesting changes. Some become psychic and others have amazing talents like art of music they didn't have before the injury. Some of the things mentioned I've experienced, like dreams that come true and a car that drove itself to avoid an accident. I also believe in another dimention in which both good and evil spirtual being exist and are able to interact with us. It could happen. It was my first attempt at writing Sci Fiction.

What an interesting fantasy story about a portal opened up via a brain injury. I like the location of the portal and how it opened up. You are very creative here. I think this is a winner.

I have an idea and a draft, too and will have to work on it more.

Well done.

Thank you for the great review. I've read about brain injuries that cause seratonin to enter a different part of your brain and suddenly people gain interests and talents they never had before like playing an instrument, art, or knowing another language or even become psyhic.
