I don't think this applies to the rich loser in Las Vegas or the wifebeater in Texas,
or even the guy roaring down the bicycle path in the truck, and nobody I know in these hills has gone ballistic, but it may be happening in those cities where violence is the norm. Your free verse is well written.

It is written mostly so we never forget the injustices and subsequent actions, no matter how delayed , that eminate from them.

I think that you have achieved your goal.
The anger and anguish are well displayed and felt.
A strong poem with a strong message.

Hello Victor. It is a serious piece of writing this one. In my own mind, I never go to the place of no return. I am not sure if it's because I'm not capable or just don't think in terms such as this. I do think men are much more into the eye for an eye theory. Women exact vengeance a plenty, it is just delivered in a less open way. A powerful write and I can understand why some would confuse it with the Texas tragedy, however, it felt more to me like a father or a husband tipped over the edge because of the girl used and broken. Wonderful piece of serious thought provoking writing. Well done. xoxo Kiwi

"A Man Becomes Such" is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I cannot even imagine. I think you have captured something here of it. This is a skillful comment on social injustice and what it can bring men to do. Thank you for sharing your work.

A very timely poem that is dark and well composed. The poem does what all good poetry should do and that makes the reader think, well done. Don and Vicki.

I like the short staccato feel to this poem. It leaves us to fill in the words to add to the meaning of your poem.

Sometimes understated says the most.

I think the poem does a great job of telling a story of the past, with a timeless message.

What drives your main character is obvious, and understandable. The crime against him causes an immediate reaction. Retribution. Other people these days, not so much justification.

Great job,
Rhonda

This is a powerful presentation of anger. The detailed saga of the journey to the end is poignant in this poetry. During these stressful times, this is a possible scenario though you deemed it Fiction. I felt the pain as I read this. The one thing I am not sure of is if the lines about Spring fit in with the rest. Just my opinion, you are the author. Those lines are the only ones that relate positivism of life to me and the rest just anger. Great work.

This seems like the man in this poem has committed suicide because he can't live alone with what he did during his life. Life didn't didn't treat him well so he treated his family and strangers very badly.

Keep writing
