A fascinating glimpse into a working environment of yesteryear. It makes you wonder what the younger generation have to gripe about these days! It certainly sounds like a set of conditions unlikely to spur employees on to produce their best work.

I dun o but this is a much better look at the old Grace Building as it was known. They have spruced it up for the Hotel it now is.

I enjoyed this chapter. You do a great job conveying how difficult it is too do our best work is such difficult conditions. I could never work in a hot room without AC. Thanks for the notes, they were very informative. I liked the song too.

Your list of grievences that your wife listed for you are a litany of complaints that I quite frankly would have trouble understanding were I the recipient.
What sort of claims did you handle? Claims by Vets, I am assuming.
Just one suggestion. Single space the lyrics to your song so it doesn't eat up so much room and makes the piece look longer than it is. bless you, my friend. Bob

Yes Bob I was happy in some of my jobs. Sorry if you had the opposite opinion. Remember up until 1984 I still had hormone problems untreated. hence miserable for a lot of younger years. I did mention even when we both went on Disability years after all this, both our MD"S said I could have been in Disability all my life...glad I was a tax payer for 28 years though. Yes, Vet claims. In speaking to Podiatrists and physiotherapists during this time and later on, I decided the Gov was not fair to War Vets...their treatment for physio and Podiatry for which I was processing claims was also a time of 'therapy' ie someone to talk to...for them. Bob, back then they were probably even worse in their attitude to what we now know is PTSD for a lot of the War Vets. Even today, Veterans Affairs is still very wishy washy on dealing with PTSD which might be even worse in these days of modern warfare. My wife did not make these claims, in the letter...and besides that the letter was never sent...but boy it felt good writing it and others agreed with me. Nearly another chapter in response to your review hehe..I wil work on closing up the song a bit. The whole tune is on my website if interested. FS would not allow the complete MP3 for all the verses. Thanks Buddy.

Very enjoyable read. Who has not have trouble in a work situation. It seems you were in a job that wasn't the right fit. It must have been bad enough to work in an environment not blessed with air conditioning and proper heating. That would in itself make for dissatisfaction. It seems like you were caught up in the dilemma of doing the job properly or turning out the required number of claims. You give a great account of the different personalities at your workplace and how some were helpful and others weren't. I enjoyed your song. So true--who you know can make all the difference. judi

Thanks, Sis, appreciate your lovely review. Bob (Mastery) has suggested I close up the lyrics a bit to not make the song look so big. If you are interested I have the complete MP3 for all the music on my own website. FS would not allow all the music. I never sent the letter by the way, but I felt better after I wrote it and other agreed with me as well.

Yeah actually I did a lot of venting in chapters about our church to do with the Former Pastor but I deleted them and he is gone, now, Praise God!

A very well-written interesting chapter. It is true we cannot deliver the best work in harsh conditions. We cannot excel in a job that we are not destined to do. Admin is meant for a certain type of.person and if a person who likes to work with people are swamped with paper work, they will not enjoy their work.

Thanks, Sis. Appreciate your lovely review. this was basically a letter I wrote to the bosses but it ended up just me letting off steam and I never sent it. I felt good afterwards, though. Hehe!

People might describe your approach and attitude a bit egoistic and autocratic but it is somewhat realistic, you are rather disciplinarian, slow but steady, so the changes came, you ultimately got the desired; I like the spirit, movement, strain, stress, portfolio management and enjoyed the read.
