This is such a wonderful poem of lasting love. It is well written and rhymes well. Of course, the ending is sad, but you have wonderful memories of the years together. Evi

-Nice photo and presentation, Willie.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You wrote a very good tribute for your late wife, Willie,
and I think she is enjoying it where she is, enjoying
those good times you had years ago.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-You also tell a very good story about the blossoming of a young love..
-I grew up in a very small town so I know what you are talking about!
-I am glad you had "sixty wonderful years together," but I am sorry for her passing in the next year.
-Thanks for sharing this.

GG, you honor me. What a wonderful review and beautiful six stars.
I feel the Lord really blessed me when I met Carol. I fell in love with her "At first sight." Willie

Thank you, Teri. Like all humans, she had her faults, I just was unable to find them. She was one in a million. The life we shared was wonderful. Thanks for the review and stars.

Hi Willie,
This is such a beautiful poem! You two were so lucky that you found each other so young, and forever. (I'm so jealous!)

Your poem is lovely and so heartfelt, I do have a few suggestions about your meter.
In the first line of your second stanza, you may want to change "We would" to "We'd" it will make your read perfect all the way through until the last stanza where I'm not sure what happened, but you seemed to fall in and out of your meter.

4th stanza:
line 1: "thereafter" is one word, but the syllable flow is just fine here.

line 2: has only 6 syllables when you've been using 8-10 consistently. This makes the flow awkward. You may want to try something like, "We shared OUR tears and ALL THAT laughter" adding 1 syllable before "tears" and 2 before "laughter" keeps the flow with the rest of your poem. (You don't have to use mine.)

line 3: sixty-first (needs the hyphen) and the line could use another syllable somewhere... I'm not quite sure how. You may try "away" after passed?

line 4: could use another syllable or 2 as well... possibly "went on to home" or something like that?

Willie, this is so heartfelt, and so lovely. I'm sure she's reading it over and over again, right where she is. My mom passed when dad was 89. She was almost 92. He's almost 92 now, and I'm pretty sure he can't wait to join her at this point. We, on the other hand, aren't ever going to want to let him go. ;)
Susan :)

This poem moves smoothly thorough your relationship. It seemed made to last from the beginning. Sorry for your loss. The was pretty back then and I bet stayed that way through her life.
Keep writing and stay healthy

This poem is so beautifully written with deep feelings and emotion. You included so many things that helped the reader understand your love, like hiding in the balcony at the movies so you could share private time. Sixty one years is a long time together. The two of you together become one person. This poem is an outstanding tribute.

Ah, how sweet, my friend. I can certainly relate to this as my husband and I have a courtship and marriage much like your poem. We're just a little bit younger. A beautiful tribute to your loving wife. Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs

Well done and I loved the scriptwriting you used to write about your love of sixty-plus years. It is so sad that we don't live forever. But dying is what we must do. We live on this earth for a limited time and share our love with someone who we find to love us back as we love them. I am so happy you found the love of your life and saddened she passed away. I hope to find the same love you cherished so much even though I am now 68 years of age. Thank you for sharing and have a happy life even though it will be alone!
Jesse

Age makes no difference, Jesse. Somewhere out there is someone who is looking for someone also. Thanks for the nice review and stars. Lots of luck to you. Willie

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I will remember that age makes no difference when searching for love.
