Is grimminess a word or is it made up. I love made up words.
This is a great poem and I simply love the artwork and presentation.I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Jen.

Thank you, Jen, for your generous review. Griminess is a real word. It's the noun form of grimy.

Wow, I could really feel this! I am honored that you have reached out and helped me, unconditionally! You totally brought the feeling together, through words, illustration, colors, and your dedication.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Mrs. Barbara. I admire Gypsy's poetry so much. You must check out her work.

Will do!

This very much Gypsy style...black bacground, colorful font....If there is suppose to be an image it isn't showing on my device...just a rectangular box where an image is meant to be, I think?
Also, pretty sure the directions say to write your dedication under the title...
Not under the poem...
Still? A lovely poetess to honor and I'm sure she will be pleased!
Karenina
**Addendum: two days later the bottom image appeared (by way of Mars, perhaps?)
It's fabulous!

Thank you for the review. There are photos in both areas on my computer. We could place the dedication line wherever we liked. I hope she is pleased I honored her. She is one of my favorite writers.
-
She is one of my favorites as well...
I can see the tip photo but not the lower one...for whatever tech reason!
-
Thanks! However, I cannot help because I am not computer savvy.
-
I apologize to you because you were absolutely correct about the placement of the dedication. I have since changed it. Thanks for trying to tell mule-headed me the correct thing to do. LOL
-
No apologies necessary! We're all human!
:)
-
I know, but I own my mistakes. Thanks!
-
More good news! I can finally see the second image!
Stunning!
-
LOL..I'm glad. I think the two go together well.
-
Apparently my download went to Mars first...then arrived bed here.
Worth the wait!
-
LOL...Computers will never be fully understood by me.

The reality of life is that no matter how many tears life sheds there will be a rainbow at the end, author. No one knows what will happen when rain enters your soul, but living with the blues is not a picture I see in her heart.

Thank you for your review. I know as a fact there is not always a rainbow at the end. This tribute is mimicking Ms. Gypsy poetic style in writing and aesthetics. It does not address her heart or soul which I like you hope is not consumed by the blues.

I liked your dedication poem. I liked the sparseness to it. It was concise and to the point. Some places are like that. No matter how much you polish it up, there is still sadness there. Gretchen

Is this dedicated to Gypsy, because it is a haiku?
It is simple and true. Rain can wash away the outer griminess of the inner city or in urban areas. But, it can't cleanse souls and the source of the dirtiness.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

The first two lines flow and connect well. The last line says it all! Great
dedication to Gypsy Blue Rose! I found city life can be overbearing at times and I understand the author's words especially on the last line. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is perfect and compliments this poem.
