Well, he showed his true colors. Certainly didn't behave in a Christian way. He doesn't deserve to be called "Brother." How can people be so mean? There but for the grace of God . . .

Sad to say, this story is true. I wish Scott had ratted him out to the minister!

Brother John needs to reread his Bible or study the example that Jesus lived while on Earth. The Bible doesn't say only help the saved, but to help everybody. And it not our job to judge people. This made me angry. It's people like Brother John that turn people away from Christianity.

Hello Liz.

The impression that I receive about Scott from your writing is that he is truly a generous and compassionate man. The one thing that puzzles me in this story is how Brother John determined the spiritual condition of the woman based on her physical circumstances.

Sad to say, this story is true. I wish Scott had ratted him out to the minister! Brother John asked her if she was "saved."

It seems to me that "Brother John" isn't a true brother to anyone, and he better stop and check his own salvation. I'm not sure of the exact wording, but I think it goes, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Bastard John. LOL. Sorry, you know me. Thanks for sharing.

This is a really hard one to believe. I can't imagine anyone making a statement like that. I wouldn't think any Christian denomination would go along with such thinking.

brother john is the perfect example of a bigoted person. Humaneness should rise above religious belief. But unfortunately religions are becoming intolerant. This story has made me very angry. I wonder where Brother John's eternal home would be.. Your friend is a true angel .

Brother John will be very surprised to find out where his forever home will be! I sometimes think people of the church are only there to make themselves look good, and to get away with so many dreadful things. I'm sure the devil is looking forward to welcoming him home! :)) Sandra xx

Oh that was a cruel note to start the New Year on, Liz. Brother John needs a good scrubbing of his heart and "mouth" because he doesn't understand the true wants of our Lord. It doesn't sound like she would do it, but I can imagine Carol standing at the Gates of Heaven and smiling down at John as she waves goodbye.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

I am always impressed by Scott. He appears a local version of Mother Teresa! We need not be rich to help a person desperately seeking help. The heart is more important than the size of his/her wallet. Scott appears to be a living example of it. Once we donate/help some poor soul, we will immediately feel the transformation taking place within. Thanks for sharing.

No one as hypocritical as a self appointed judgemental Christian. God's punishment?
Oh brother.... Brother John is cruel...and unusual! Certainly a punishment! This frosts my cookies!
