Hello Rhonda,
I pray you are doing well. This is such a lovely written poem of those lost memories of little girls. They are so adorable, and the innocent of their childhood is very precious. But they do grow up one day and become not so innocent women, sometimes. I love the questions and the responses your provided in your poem. Your photo of the little girl is also adorable. She is very cute. Her eyes are sneakily intriguing. I believe that little girl is still that same girl but with more mature playfulness inside her. This was such an enjoyable read. I really can still even at my age, relate those things found in that little girl. Awesome rhyming of your words within your poem. Nice title. Well done. Take care.

Thank you for your lively review, Joyce. You know, reading back through this poem, myself, I remember my mood at the time I wrote it. I think a lot of us need to find our inner child in a world gone whacky!
Thanks again for reading and reviewing,
Rhonda

Hello davisr (Rhonda)
Your reflections on child hood sounds to me something happened to the a child when she was innocent. The last few lines to me that she feared something that made her go and hide

Thank you for the review, especially with no points on it, lol.
I think you got the main point of the poem, but I was trying to say that even when we?re grown, the little girl is still somewhere deep inside us.
Thanks again,
Rhonda

You are welcome Ronda.
I notice that you and I didn't promote our post.

That is strange. For me, I?ve been too busy to do enough reviews.

The innocence of childhood is something we all miss once it is gone. Where is that little girl and all her hopes and dreams and fears? Probably grown and reminiscing about her youth.

Hello Rhonda,
Your wonderful poem reads so smoothly, one doesn't even notice
it is also beautifully rhymed.
That little girl hasn't gone anywhere, she simply transformed into
a warm, caring, creative, imaginative women.
Sometimes she hangs out with a group of dare-devil girls
that save schools from old witches or the world from crazy mummies.
The only thing that changed is that she doesn't hate all the boys. :)
Perfect photo, sparkling eyes and smile.
Six stars to place in her sky.

Awwww, thank you, Robert. Yes, the little girl has definitely turned into a Daredevil Girl!! Maybe she needs to find her way back to where she started!
Thanks for the 6 stars for her sky and for the spot on comments! You always nail my meanings.
Take care,
Rhonda

It's amazing how childhood fun and dreams gives way to the reality of the world where fun is lost and dreams are broken. I enjoyed your poem. I like the question/response of your lines and the rhymes. You give readers much to think about, too. Your picture is a perfect accompaniment. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you, Jan, for the review and comments.
The picture is my first granddaughter about 6 years ago. It?s always fun to use grandkid pics.

Thank you for sharing. As an elementary school teacher, I often wonder what happens to the children I spend so much time with. Those early days of complete innocence are fleeting I'm afraid. I love the photo.

I?m a retired high school teacher, so I get your kids once they start to transition, but I find them in the working world and get to see what they?ve become.
Thank you for your review,

I totally resonate with this poem. I am the mother of four boys. Each one
so precious and adorable as they grew. They are fine men now, but during their transforming years (teenage and twenties) their wonderful personalities were adrift and being abused by different social circumstances. They are all much older now and some of those earlier traits are very evident and appreciated. I think they never lose what they had, they just keep it under wraps. Your poem asks all those questions so very wisely and I'm sure you will find the answers, sooner than you think. Your writing is enjoyable.

Thank you for sharing your experiences as well. I have found these answers, personally, but I have children and grandchildren struggling at different levels.
Thanks for taking time to review,

That is a good question. I'm sure we've all been wondering lately. Times are changing and in hindsight, the past seemed much simpler and more innocent. That child is still inside of us - too scared to come out now, I would imagine! Thanks for taking us all down memory lane.

Thank you for the review, June. I agree, the child has ducked for cover right now, as have we all.

Wow, Rhonda...This is some wonderful poetic writing. In t you capture so many traits of a little girl that are truly gone forever once the years roll by. I loved this line especially well:
"Was it in some distant foreign land, or is she hidden deep inside?" (yes --she is inside)
Is that really you in the picture, Rhonda? What a cutie. : ) Bob

Thank you for the review, Bob.
The picture is my granddaughter, actually, lol. She?s 15 now, and still one of the world?s innocents. Fingers crossed on that.
Take care,
Rhonda

I sort of thought that, Rhonda, but didn't want to insult you in some way,
Bless you, Bob

That?s okay, no insult. Her younger sister looks more like me than she does. I posted a picture of her with another post where she has on a COVID mask.

Where is the Little Girl?

Hello, Rhonda,
Interesting poem...it made me think. At first it was about a granddaughter that grew up but towards the end I'm not sure. The girl turned out to be a terrible person? Or just missguided? Well done my friend.

No, it was just about any woman, the struggles she goes through to be a woman, then finding the inner child.
It has several other layers as well, it this was the simpler of the themes.
Thanks for reviewing. I always appreciate your input,
Rhonda
