This is nicely done and so true. Presented and worded well in this 5-7-5. Congratulations on winning first place in the contest. We should always remember those who served. Marilyn

Short but oh so powerful. To remember and acknowledge and unspecified entity is almost religious, but an ode to one who sacrificed no less than those openly recognised. Perfect picture to add to the theme.

You said so much in such a short space.
Good job on the syllable count for each line.
The candle artwork is perfect. How many times have we all seen candles at memorials?
Your words are true and so sad.
Good job and best wishes in the contest.
Thanks for sharing. Jan

This is a beautiful piece, an honor the the Unknown Soldier. It is presented in a great way, well written. Personally, I'd center the piece, but that's just personal preference. It follows the requirements of the contest. I would definitely recommend this piece to a friend. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for the very complimentary review, DMB! I especially appreciate your suggestion to center the lines, which I did immediately, before anyone else saw them in their awkward, un-centered state. Thanks again!!
