The 23rd Psalm

Hi Amada
The 23rd Psalm is perhaps one of the most familiar chapters of the Bible; many of us could quote it word for word. Here you have expertly used is as a back-drop for the theme.
Just for the sake of choosing a line I like (I like them all and could write about each one), I enjoyed the open verse, where you discuss a three-part set of problems and draw it together by showing that from these comes a gift a need to write poetry.
If anyone wants to read excellent poetry or learn how to write it, I would recommend your rendition of the 23rd Psalm.
Well done and all the best
Martin

Hi Amada
You are most welcome. You never disappoint. Havve I asked you before if any of your poetry is published in book? Do you perhaps have and entire volume of your work which can be purchased somewhere?
All the best
Martin
Comment from Poetic Friend
Amada, dear, this commentary is so poetic-like. The language is enriched and dances on the page. You are indeed a true poet.
You write for many of the reasons I do and probably most poets.
I am assuming this contest is over, given you posted it on August 22, 2010. If not, good luck, my friend.

This is a great entry for this contest. Very creative writing, using the twenty-third psalm as a guideline of sorts. Very well done.

It would be a better world if we all felt about poetry as you do. Poetry is an open window into the hearts and minds of those whom write it and we all were as open as you about poetry, then we wouldn't be facing the faceless and voiceless tribulations of today's so called modern world.

Isn't it amazing how a writer can turn to the Bible for inspiration everytime? I suppose it's because the Bible is the greatest book ever written. I especially like the phrase, 'and my freckled fingers feel the call to gather its petals in a symphony of rhythms, music, and light.' Good luck with the contest. ann

I thought this was a wonderful piece that is beautifully written. Your wording and flow bring out the power behind the reasoning you pick up the pen. Great work.
