I would argue that there is such a thing as growing old gracefully, but perhaps I'm not quite old enough to appreciate your thoughts here.
You have met the writing prompt with your 5/7/5 entry and have given readers something to think about. What is the image? Is it something old and rusted? I can't quite make it out.
Good luck in the contest.

It is a withered flower stem amongst cold dust which I though brought some symbolism to my story. There is a gold lining, even to growing old. Growing old is really a state of mind as I still feel like I'm eighteen. I just like to stimulate conversation!

You asked a question. Yes, I believe it is possible to grow old gracefully. I am old and I am finally doing it, late in the process. It depends on personality and reactions to life. Good poem. Loose the caps and it is perfect. Blessings, Barbara. Xo

Oh thank you Pam. The caps are a terrible habit that I am having trouble breaking. Blessings!
