Wow, this haiku is matching so well the picture you choose. I love the way the colors are cascading from each line : "Monet's Spring garden
blooms in lush purples and pinks
quite the impression
" Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest and with your writings.

Thank you for the lovely review. The picture I chose is of Monet's garden.

This is a lovely picture that shares the colors of Monet's garden scenes. This is a very nice poem, you even managed to slip in the word impression. Monet was considered an impressionist. Very well done.

This is a lovely picture. And it reminds me of Monet's art. I wish I had gone to France when I lived in Bremerhaven, Germany in 1973. My husband wanted to take me there, but I was hospitalised and could not go.
It would have been a wonderful trip. Thank you for the great story.

Such a treat, I love France though I am Italian. I wish you could have gone, but at least you experienced Europe. Thank you 😊

Your image choice is beautiful, Val. I like the satori
very much as it ties to the art movement perfectly.
Great job with the style of haiku.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes, Jan

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line
defines these word well! I love the artwork the author chose - especially
because purple is my favorite color! Thank you for the author's notes -
if I ever go to France I will visit the garden. An Uplifting poem!

I think this is a wonderful Haiku that seems well-connected to it's topic. The picture is lovely; however, the purple background seems far too harsh for the soft impressionist work of Monet. Perhaps it could be lightened some far a softer presentation. Best wishes.

I am very impressed with this Haiku-though I am somewhat learning (practicing) this form as you have related the garden, impression, and Monet really relate to me, very well written and best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Well, I am extremely please by this "exceptional" I have been writing haiku for at least ten years, and there used to be an excellent haiku teacher on this site but he passed some years ago. haiku (never caps) has gone through many transitions on this site. I would love to read yours . Many thanks.

I am learning this form through a club run by Gypsy Blue Rose a very well informed writer of the Haiku form and writes for this site

I admire Monet's Impressionistic paintings and his garden at Giverny is a delight, so your poem appealed to me in its ability to evoke both.
Comment: I find the bright blue background is a rather 'hard' colour. You mention 'lush purples and pinks', so I think a deep purple or magenta would be more in tune.

I checked the change - wow! that really pops with colour. I like it much better than the blue.

Once again, thanks

Quite the "impression" - clever. I have three of his prints hanging in my home, including a huge piece over my fireplace. A lovely poem inspired by a man who painted lovely pictures. Good luck with this contest.
