Ciao Tempeste: I like your wee poem here in that it reminds me of myself. No. I'm far from being a superstar. But I ofttimes bellow my love song loudly. Why? Because there is this one particular nomad doe that I call out to...who gets a bit hard of hearing ever so often. So whilst I'm trying to get her attention other nomad does hear my call...and respond to it. But of all the does, near and far, who comes to seek me...she is the only one that I am interested in. Nevertheless...she is the only doe who can rightly say..."The Buck Stops Here." God bless you, Tempeste. cordially: rhonnie69.

I enjoyed this work of yours very much. Good use of couplets in this poem. Smooth read beginning to end. No unnecessary pauses. Lovely picture to accompany the poem. Great luck in this contest!

I?m glad you enjoyed the read .. I took time to find the right pic to represent this noble creature.
I wrote about my father?s valley at the foot of the Alps .. it?s a beautiful place where The Stag is the main protagonist ..
Keep safe!

A wonderful sight indeed. Your poem describes the scene well. This is an experience that would put one's place in the world in a true perspective. No wonder that the stag was such an important figure in Celtic folklore.

Yes , the Stag is a nobile creature .. I don t know a lot about Celti folklore ..I ll google it ..
It s a crime in my eyes that people hunt them for sport .. in my country the hunter can not use dogs during the hunt.
Glad you enjoyed the read and thank you for the positive feedback
Keep safe!

A very good picture. A pretty good opening stanza. A better second stanza, sound lonely though. A very good third and fourth stanza. A pretty good ending.

Well the Stag lives a lonely life most of the year .. when it is time to mate in autumn he will call the females....
... they live most of the year wandering in herds with the young ..
They return when the Stag calls them for the mating season.
Thank you for reviewing my wee poem.
Glad you like the pic .. I took time to choose it
Keep safe!
